Beautiful, comfortable home. Everything was well planned and thought of. Immaculately clean & tidy. Comfy beds and excellent showers. Water was hot & good pressure. Good location lots of activities. Nearby shop for all your requirements. Perfect holiday destination. Safety was number 1. Good scenic views.

The accommodation is situated in the Central Drakensberg in Champagne Valley, a really special and beautiful part of the Drakensberg Mountain range. Mount Champagne is an extension of Dragon Peaks Resort but is across the Sterkspruit River and a short drive from the resort, giving access to all the Dragon Peaks Resort amenities but with privacy and its own pool, dam and tennis court as well. There are lovely walks/hikes in the area, the River Walk being a favorite short walk through dappled shade. The accommodation is as you see it in the pictures, lovely, spacious and more private than the other units at Mount Champagne, having its own private hedged garden. The kitchen was even supplied with an Air fryer and stick blender! The air conditioner was a much-appreciated addition as we were there in summer and some of the days were very hot. The fishing was great, lots of smallish bass in the dam and with horse riding at Dragon Peaks and organised activities and games on the go at Dragon Peaks Resort during holiday periods, there is lots for young people to do. The Oaks Supermarket at Dragon Peaks (a small convenience store) has the basics and is well stocked. The owner called us to ensure that we had settled in and the onsite managers (Des and Lorraine) were on hand to deal promptly with a few small issues that arose during our stay.

Not that we didn't like it - but just to echo a caution from previous commenters. The downstairs open-air shower is fully visible from one of the upstairs rooms above it, which wasn't a problem for us, but could have been if we had invited non-family guests along. The rooms had large ceiling fans, with the lower rooms having lower ceilings due to the house being double story - this would be problematic for a tall person. Although the upper rooms had ceiling fans, the house did heat up during the course of the day and the evenings upstairs were very hot. We did open windows to cool down the upstairs rooms in the evening but were ever aware of the monkeys (a troop came through the garden every afternoon - so you must heed the warnings to keep windows and doors closed!).

It’s stunning, loved the furnishings. The kitchen counter was our favourite! The unit is very clean, welcoming and has everything that you need as a family. You do not need to bring anything except for electric extension which you might not use, we used it when we were ironing. I would recommend this unit specifically, it’s so spacious! Research on the restaurants close by and book in advance! We were disappointed when the one we wanted was full and we had to look for plan B

Inside the property needs an update, furniture, bedding, paint etc

Location was excellent, beds was very comfortable, chalet was spacious. The outdoor shower was a great experience. There was sufficient crockery etc. The cleaning services was excellent, she did a great job, keep up the great work and Thank you.

The shrubs by all the windows was very overgrown and not maintained and at the front door entrance which resulted in us not being able to open the windows including the up stairs windows. It has to be pruned and kept short so that the windows can be opened to enjoy the fresh mountain air and beauty.

Stunning view of the mountains and privacy of the surrounding garden. Beautiful rooms. Cosy bedrooms and open plan living. Nicely furnished.
