The Hermitage

The property is unique. it’s a small quirky apartment with a whole heap of charm. The owners are cheery and chatty.

There wasn’t much I didn’t like about the property definitely nothing worth writing about. it was beyond what I expected when booking.

Fantastic cottage, with great facilities and very cosy. Beautiful walks and views. Very helpful and attentive hosts.

There's a pub next door which had loud music on Saturday night, however this didn't take away from how wonderful this place is to stay.

This is a really special place to stay, we didn't want to leave! Cosy cottage with everything you could possibly need - down to a pizza slicer! We loved spending quality time together playing board games (provided in the accommodation.) The annexe felt larger because of the split mezzanine level, it also has a lovely log burner and a really comfortable bed. The built in double shower is really very good, with plenty of hot water on demand. I imagine the garden is beautiful in spring/summer, we would love to return to see it in bloom. Accommodating and thoughtful hosts, excellent restaurant recommendation - no.37 was lovely, would highly recommend a visit. Lots to do nearby - scenic walks just around the corner and a town market on certain days.. Rosemoor garden centre just down the road. Delicious home made scones and fresh cream and jam waiting for us in a welcome hamper upon arrival. Absolutely loved staying here and would definitely book again!

My mum and I had a great stay at the Hermitage. Beautiful cottage with plenty of space and all the facilities you need. Lots of nice little touches. The hosts are very friendly and always there to help when you need anything. The cottage is spotlessly clean and well taken care of. One thing I also have to emphasize are the very comfortable beds.

The lighting situation when accessing the cottage through the garden at night time could be improved, as it is very dark and there are some steps along the path you can trip over.
