Casa do ti' Marrão

The apartment was actually far more charming even than the photos in the listing indicated. It seemed to be a home that had been there for literally hundreds of years, yet felt modern and equipped with nice furniture and a sweet, well-equipped kitchen. The host was exceptionally kind and light-hearted. Overall, I was really quite surprised to find myself in such a nice, comfortable, private space. I had chosen it mainly because of its proximity to the airport (I actually walked to the property from the airport, 25 minutes), but was pleasantly surprised to find an apartment which I would have gladly chosen as a great-value, cozy home base for exploring the island if I were there for a longer.

There was literally nothing I did not like about my 1-night stay in this charming, well-located apartment with an exceptionally-kind and helpful host.

Great host, very helping and giving all kind of information about the island including tips. Reachable at any time, proactively approaching us. We got fresh eggs and goat cheese (very tasty). The house is nice and clean, spaceous - it is a traditional house with small windows. It's close to the airport which has its pros and cons as well. The proximity of the airport means you hear the airplanes, but they stop coming/leaving during most fo the night (23:30 till 6:50). It's a rather rural area with very little movement during the night. Parking is possible outside the house. Strong Wifi.

The bed was squeaking with every little movement, so we kept waking each other during the night. Minor issue: lighting in the bathroom could be stronger (there is just a small window so even during the day you need lights to see.

Great unique space - easy to find and walkable to the airport. The host was super friendly and welcoming!

Not a problem for us but there are roosters right outside so for light sleepers, could be an issue.

The house is well positioned near the airport. It is in a quiet neighborhood, you could rest well. The host was great and she lives near the house if you need something. Check in and check out were smooth

The host, Teresa, was welcoming and made us feel at home instantly. She made herself available if we needed anything, living next door. She keeps a beautiful garden that we were welcome to harvest from, and she was able to provide fresh eggs from her chickens as well as share her own freshly made cheese. The apartment is within walking distance of the airport. We walked through residential streets to the market, and found that the kitchen was easy to use. Everything we needed was available.

I loved my stay at Casa do tí Marrão. I booked literally in such short notice, and the host was so kind to make sure I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I was blessed with the most amazing cheese made by the host. Although it was just for one night, it was the perfect place to rest and rid an oncoming migraine. I slept so good and felt at home. The apartment was very clean, quiant, and spacious. It was a nice 20 mins walk to the airport, although I never heard a plane. Very quiet and peaceful location. wish I had more time there. I do hope to stay again if available.

The host is one of the most hospitable persons that I have ever met in my life. She made us try local products and every time we had a question she would do her best to help. The kitchen was well-equipped and the entire space was clean. We hope to come back in the future.
