La Casa nel Castello

Great location and a lovely apartment. Luca was accommodating with check in procedures. He recommended a lovely seafood restuarant for dinner. The location could not have been better for exploring the archeological park.

The location is about 1 km from Ostia Antica train station and about 500m from Ostia Antica excavation site. Many good restaurant around it and supermarket just across the hotel.

We felt lazy to go out to dinner in restaurant, so we just bought some food in the supermarket and get some pizza from a pizzeria nearby, however when we want to reheat the food, we cannot figure out how to turn on the stove.

A beautiful house, in a beautiful quiet pedestrian square, right next to the amazingly beautiful Ostia Antica archaeological park

Just one thing. The perfumes of the cleaning and/or sanatizing and/or disinfecting products was too strong. So much so that my eyes burned throughout the night.

The apartment is fully stocked with cookware, tableware, bedding, and bath towels. The bath towels were the softest I have ever had! The location is a 25-minute taxi ride from the airport (35 Euros each way) and is perfect for visiting the Ostia Antica Park Site on foot. The apartment is located on Piazza della Rocca, a pedestrian plaza in the heart of the old section of the town. The Castello and St. Aurea church are just steps away in the plaza. Across the main street through town is a Todis Supermarket that offers a wide selection of groceries, wine, beer, and liquor plus a bakery that has some readymade food including roasted chicken, lasagna, and pizza. There are several cafes nearby. Luca, the host, was very helpful and attentive to our needs. He even arranged a last-minute taxi to the airport for us.

The 'fridge is very small, but with the Todis supermarket only a five-minute walk away, we were able to easily replenish our stock. The only thing we could have used, but lacked, was a microwave oven.

Outstanding renovation job. Beautiful inside and out, great location next to the castle and Ostia Antica ruins. Excellent communication with host, would highly recommend

The house was absolutely charming. Wish we were able to stay longer to enjoy everything. Well thought out design in a small, comfortable space. The host was helpful and easily reachable. The location was amazing. Ostia Antica is a treasure.

Excellent location close to train and archeological site, comfortable bed and sitting area, clean, helpful and responsive host that let us drop our bags off early and got us a taxi to the airport the following day, beautiful old building. Wish we could have stayed longer.

There was some drilling or construction going on for a while that we could hear through the walls.

Lucas the host is very kind. The location is perfect if you are looking for a night near FCO airport
