La Casa nel Castello

Luca (the host) was very friendly, helpful, and respond to questions. Friendly pedestrian square outside our frount door, Castle of Julius the second just off the square, close proximity to ancient Ostia Antica (spent 13.5 hours there over two days and rivals Pompeii and Heraclitus), grocery store across the street, two fantastic cafes with delicious pastries, home made pasta at Coccodè Pasta all'uovo & Bistrot, and lovely bars and restaurants in our area. Laundry facilities were just a short bus ride away, South on the #4 to Onda Blu Laundromat (tickets available at the Tobacconists to the left of the Il Gelato Bar).

Luca's property is one of the best private homes we've ever stayed in. The property was amazingly updated (as it's a building probably from the 1500s). It felt so cozy and comfortable (just like we were at home) that we would like to come back and stay longer. Luca was also very friendly and helpful (providing food recommendations), easy to communicate with and met us at the property to show us everything. It's close to the Rome airport so that was attractive to us as we were flying out of FCO the next day. It's very easy to park your car close to the property too! Bed was very comfortable. Luca even provided us with an HDMI cable to hook our laptop up to the TV to watch a football game.

Everything was amazing, there were no issues or negative things to report!

The building was very old world, but inside was completely updated. It was in a very quaint Italian village with a lot of history within it. The host, Luca, was wonderful and communicated very well with us.

We liked everything but it was a bit tricky to find, even though Luca had sent us pictures. It is a pedestrian area so you must park and then find it.

It was a very interesting journey. The place was wonderful. We lived inside the castle yard, which was very cozy and quiet. Just in front of the house, there are some great interesting places to visit: (the Archaeological Park of Ostia Antica, and the Castle of Julius II). The host Luca was very friendly, helpful, polite. When we arrived, he helped us to check in and explained everything very clearly. Luca was easily available all throughout our stay. He also booked a taxi for us for our early morning flight. The coffee and croissants available in the apartment kitchen were very tasty. Thank you very much, Luca! A good supermarket is just in front of the apartment. This is the best place for accommodation if you come to visit Ostia Antica.

The accommodation is very beautiful, well-decorated, comfortable, and clean. We really enjoyed the tranquility of the place. The host is very helpful and friendly, and was available to assist if needed. We wish we could have stayed longer.

We had some issues with hot water in the shower, but nothing that significantly compromised our stay. Other than that, the experience was perfect.

A little bit cold

The experience of being in such a magical place is unforgettable. Luca is a wonderful host, very knowledgeable, and with great energy. Staying in a medieval castle, surrounded by its burgh is something else! is a place to explore that takes you 600 years back. Also, the archeological area around the castle from antique Rome and the Necropolis is something to never forget, and want to come back for more. We will come back for sure.

Nothing, everything was perfect

Cosy quarters in a magical medieval setting. Location is right at the entrance of the old walls of Castello di Giulio II. Loved the view from the window onto the pretty square and proximity to the archaeological park. The studio was clean, and the host was accommodating and responsive. Conveniently close are a few restaurants, mini market and cafes ideal for a quick breakfast fix.
