La Casa nel Castello

Set within the walls of a medieval village this beautiful room boasts AC, WiFi, a larger shower than most rooms, and an all around great atmosphere. We loved our stay and the owner even helped us line up a cab for our return trip to the airport. Within walking distance are four great restaurants and the locals all treated us well. The room was a perfect base camp for Ostia Antica with a bus stop right outside that you can hop in to go to the beach in Lido.

Perfect location in historic part of Ostia Antica. Very clean comfortable and good value for money. Way better than a soulless airport hotel. Excellent places to eat with 100 metres. Very friendly and proactive host.

The apartment was in a great location within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the archaeological park. Parking was available close by and the Rome airport was just a short drive away. The bed was comfortable, the shower was great, and check in was very easy.

This apartment is surrounded by so much history you can’t help but fall in love with it. Felt like a stay in an authentic Italian village and so close to bars and restaurants. Amazingly close to the airport which suited me having an early flight in the morning.

The only thing I didn’t like was only having one night here

Beautiful location inside walled piazza. Luca was a great host and always quick to respond. Apartment was clean, comfortable and had a large bathroom. Walking distance to Ostia Antica Archeological Park. Great restaurants nearby.

La Casa nel Castello is an exceptional property and Luca was an exemplary host who went out of his way to accommodate my needs and interests. I came to see the ruins of Ostia Antica, but the apartment and the square it overlooks added so much to my stay. The apartment is built into the ancient walls and opens onto an enclosed piazza that serves as one slow-paced centre for the town's public life.

The location within the old walls was so picturesque. Our host ,Luca, was very personable and helpful. We were very close to Ostia Antica Archeological Park, where we spent a fascinating day! There are several great places to eat just a few steps away.

Everything was perfect.

We chose this place because we didn’t want to drive far while recovering from jet lag and not sleeping well on airplanes. This was close to the airport and right beside the entrance to the Ostia Antica archeological site ( which unfortunately is closed on Mondays). Luca was a gracious and welcoming host. Free street parking was easy to find nearby. The bed was comfortable. There were several appealing restaurants in easy walking distance.

Best stay in our 46-day Italian vacation. An amazing property right next to the castle in Ostia Antica. Luca was a kind and helpful host with suggestions for restaurants and great advice on how to navigate the area. A perfect spot in this charming village. Will be back!!
