we slept very well up in the eaves. just be careful of the head height if you’re tall!!

Lots of welcome food provided which was greatly appreciated. Big thanks to the hosts for taking time out to intercept us when we became lost in the back streets of Ortigia guiding us to alternate parking.

Restricted sitting area however as we were out most of the time this was insignificant.

I booked Aquarello on the basis of previous reviews and was not disappointed. The property is located in a pedestrian lane way in a predominantly residential area of Ortigia. The apartment was off the lane way & opened onto a courtyard . As a result it was very quiet. The apartment was beautifully presented and appointed with everything you would need. The bedroom was quiet large with a very comfortable bed. It was also great to have your own kitchen which included a coffee machine. We bought breakfast supplies & local wine in a nearby mini market . If you needed another coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice or a pasty in the morning there were plenty of shops in a nearby street about 50 m away. Our host Gwendualena was very helpful suggesting places to eat out. In a place where you don't speak the language & don’t see a lot of taxis around, having Gwendualena book a taxi to take us the bus station ( which is a fair walk with bags in cobbled streets) on our last morning was greatly appreciated . Overall a cannot recommend this property highly enough. It is much better than staying in a hotel.

The hostess was fantastically helpful when our parking reservation went askew, quickly made another arrangement and helped us with our luggage. The location of the property is perfecto, right in the middle of everything...The market is wonderful and their is a daily pull whether to visit one of the wonderful restaurants or to cook the amazing seafood and produce. We very much enjoyed the Island .

The apartment is small for a family of four but comfortable and very thoughtfully done with some wonderful touches you wouldn't expect : quality cornetti and fruit on arrival, juice and water in the fridge. The location was a dream; five minutes to a rocky stairway into the sea and five mins walk to the stunning cathedral. We spent two nights here but wish we'd had more time as Siracusa was definitely our favourite town with a lovely beach nearby.

The sofa bed was a little small for my 14 yr old to share w his brother but fine for smaller kids.

Nicely welcoming and stylish and our host had thought of everything . Very convenient for everything yet quiet.
