Il Paradiso sul Mare Apartment

The views from the terrace, bedroom & kitchen were stunning. The large terrace with table plus lounge chairs allowed us to enjoy the outdoors with the nice view looking down on Amalfi. The inside lights were bright and the bedroom spacious. Our host, Gerardo, was charming and helpful. We loved the lemon garden with the pool. Sadly it rained one whole day so we did not have the opportunity to hike to the waterfalls. There was a feast day celebration in Ravello that was wonderful. We walked up the stairs. That was a killer and too hard on my poor knees. But Ravello is special. We also took the bus to Amalfi for one afternoon and that went smoothly. Gerardo was very helpful with telling us how to find the bus stop, and the schedule. The nearby supermarket Despa, was OK but the town of Pontone lacked the bakeries and local foods that we found in Bomerano so cooking at this place wasn't as fun/easy as other locations. We never needed the ac because there was always a nice breeze.

Lack of walking distance food shops. Stairs - host was helpful.

Breathtaking views. So much better than pictures. Pontone is a small, quiet area with two lovely restaurants, which we visited frequently. Apartment was clean, a little small for family of 5 but ok nonetheless. Very good localuty with 5 minute walk to bus with easy access to Ravello, Amalfi etc. Other option is walking down many steps to Amalfi. Not for the faint hearted particularly the walk back up in very hot conditions. Overall a truly wonderful stay. Gerardo was very helpful and recommended a lovely private driver, Peter, who brought us from Napoli to Pontone and gave us an excellent tour of the area.

Great view. Friendly staff. Easy private parking. Washing machine. Coffee, cookies, juice. Great hiking, waterfalls, old ruins. 1000 steps to Amalfi, even lit up at night. Trip up the steps took two 72 year olds almost an hour. Good shower, internet. Two restaurants and a bar nearby.

Location is spectacular. High in the hills in Provone. Very comfortable accommodation with a kitchen and great terrace overlooking Amalfi. Host was very attentive although not on site. Communication was good. Parking is safe and secure only yards from the property. Various biscuits, juice and so on ,were kindly left by our host. Provone would be used as a base to visit surrounding areas, as there are few attractions - preferably with car, although a regular bus service serves the village. Ravello is only 7-8 minutes away with transport. Only a couple of restaurants were available in Provone when we were there, but both were very good. You can walk into and back from Amalfi - about 25 minutes down a range of stairs. Nice and quiet at night - apart from a few distant dogs barking.
