Sunset Holiday Home Taormina

This is one of those few places which offer en-suite bedroom and another bed in the lounge with the second bathroom. It makes so much easier for friends to stay together when there are two bathrooms in the property. The real highlight though of this property is the terrace which offers views over Taormina and the bay of Naxos. The property offers everything one may need to really experience the beauty of Taormina.

People with mobility problems may find it difficult to get to this apartment which is right at the top of the building and at a higher level of a hilly city.

The apartment is amazing, it is roomy, and has a lot of light. Everything is clean and modern and the best feature is the terrace with a magnificent view on the bay. It was everything we could have hoped for.

- It is just one bedroom not 2 as described on the website but was also quite clear from the pictures - for us was not an issue as we had our daughter sleeping in the double bed (very comfortable) in the living room but might be something to consider if you're travelling with friends and want more privacy. - The light in one bathroom was not working

Location. Terrace with magnificent view.

The location is amazing. Great value for money. Just one flight of stairs away from via Del corso. Good size and amazing terrace and views. Just brilliant !

The property isn’t serviced with a lift. This is clear from the property description so the owner makes this very clear :) We didn’t mind the stairs. The location and view far outweigh the disadvantage of the stairs :)

We have arrived in Taormina after having spent 3 nights in Agrigento, Ragusa and Syracusa. We have stayed in very similar appartments for less than half the price but I clearly understand that the view and location is what one pays for in Taormina. I can only compare the appartment with the ones in other cities but I have a feeling that this one is not worth the money. The view and the location are superb. About the staires that others complain: in Taormina and Sicily you will always find narrow stairs About the parking: we've been at Easter when parking was almost impossible, but the day after (Tuesday) you could park almost anywhere, even the two parking houses were completely empty (at 10%). Upon our arrival we received no help and believe me you won't find your way in Taormina on a map because it is on a hillside with narrow roads, one ways and lost of dead-ends. Our host sent us a message at the end that he would reimburse 20 euros for parking but since it is not clearly indicated in the description of the place, this is up to him which I find unethical.

There were a lot of small things that, all added up, did make a sour taste in our mouths: - the entrance door needs a repaint and a new door handle (see photo) - all doors creak, a simple drop of oil would help - there is a lot of scale in every bathroom on the walls, floors, almost everywhere - one of the showers hoses was broken at the wall, thus water streamed all over in the cabin - both showerheads could do with scale remover - only one of the lights work in the bathrooms and one of the rooms and you don't get a real lamp just a bulb hanging on a cable - in the entrance hall there is not even a nail in the wall to hang your stuff - the furniture is welcome on the terrace but why isn't there a pillow to sit on? Without pillows you get uncomfortable in half an hour - there is lamp only on one side of the bed - there is no decoration on the walls, not even a tiny photo or anything - this is in stark contrast with any other place we've been to - the tap at the washing basin is in pieces (see photo) - the fact that you have to handle a switch when you need water pression for a shower and there is no automatic pump indicates how much the host cares for guests. If you ask why haven't I told the inconveniences to the host: I was here on holiday, not to manage. Without the view and location this place would worth 3 points for me.

We've been for only two nights on 12th of February, a family of 3. Amazing location, with a large terrace with great views across Taormina, the sea and majestic Mount Etna ,very close, 2-3 minutes walking distance, to the beautiful High Street- Corso Umberto and the famous square Piazza IX Aprile, one of the most beautiful squares in the world I'd dare to say, with superb architecture and breathtaking views over the Ionian sea and Mount Etna. Grocery supermarket and any other shops and restaurants, a short walk away as well, even the amazing Antico Greek Theatre is a beautiful short walk away and that is a must see landmark, with, again, breathtaking views 360 degrees around! Ivan, the host of this beautiful place was very nice and helpful with any question or request we had. The WiFi was good, hot water at all times, aircon heating if the nights got a bit chilly, two bathrooms is a good confort plus, the kitchen amenities all good quality and easy to use, you have anything needed for a good stay either if you do self catering or eat out. To cut a long story short, we found nothing to complain about and we would happily return to stay more days and explore more of Taormina and gorgeous surroundings!

Nothing not to like, great place to stay for a couple( or two) , family or friends!

Sunset holiday home in Taormina provided a great experience with breathtaking views and a spacious terrace. The host was accommodating and friendly, enhancing our overall stay. The accommodation was comfortable, although the description's mention of two bedrooms was slightly misleading, as the second bedroom turned out to be the living room. Despite this, it didn't pose an issue for us and didn't diminish the enjoyment of our time overlooking the charming city.

Location is great. The host is nice. And the view of balcony is wonderful.

WiFi is broken.
