We loved that it was such an old house yet so comfortable. It has great charm. It’s also very close to all of the things we wanted to do.

the property at ranjatai was gorgeous. everything was as pictured and we had a lovely night here.

the staff showed up about ten minutes before checkout and stood outside, which was kind of anxiety fueling.

"Great traditionnal japanese house"

The experience of living into a real family house was fantastic. The house is super big (can fit 10 adults), and we all felt super lucky to be able to experience a more traditionnal housing. We were all super charmed. If you are looking for a real traditionnal japanese exprience, this place is fantastic.

We really enjoyed everything. I just would like to warn people that the place is quite retro. It smells the old house, the wind goes through it like in old houses, it's charming as an old family house but might not fit to people looking for modern comfort. If you look for a traditionnal family house you would be super happy but if you prefer modern luxury hotel this might not be the right place for you. Also the place is not baby friendly (stairs are steep, there are fragile details all over the house).
