Tabine has many properties and has an office at the convenient location. Host let us leave our luggage in the office until the place was ready. He was very nice and quick to respond to my inquiry about luggage drop off. We went to explore the city and later pick up the key from the office( or code, I cannot remember) and we checked in. The first one was traditional and beautiful house. However, it has a strong smell-possibly dog or cat pee. We complained and the host was very responsive and kind. He let us change the place ( no smell) and even give us a ride to a new house. We really liked the second place and were very touched by his kindness and professionalism. For other travelers, if you are not traveling with pets, make sure that the house you rent does not allow pets. Another thing, even though this is not deal breaker, one of our friend has bad knee and had difficulty sitting on the floor. If you prefer to have chairs in the dining room or any other place, make sure of that as well.

Te bathroom smells TERRIBLE. It was the combined smell of a thousand cheese flavored instant noodles with garbage

The house is very large and welcoming. Well clean and with all the services. Style is its strong point, I would go back for a few more days.

Check in is too late

This property is a beautiful old house in a quiet neighborhood near the Kenroku-en Garden. It's a perfect choice if you want to experience a more traditional Japanese stay. Clean and comfortable, and the beds were amazing!

A lot of space. An old house with a lot of character. An interesting neighbourhood

Not very comfortable when the weather gets cold . Some of the shoji do not run easily.
