I loved the history of the building and all the antiques there. The host was very friendly and helped us find places to visit that we were interested in.

The stairs were a bit steep so I would stay away if you have trouble going up or down regular stairs.

"Staying at Yumeji was the cherry on top of our Kyoto trip!"

The breakfast was amazing! It was so delicious and such a treat. We loved the bread so much we bought extra to take home! It felt really special to get to have breakfast at the little cafe ready for us and the kids also really enjoyed it. I hope we can come back and stay a few days at Yumeji because we felt so comfortable there. It was such a unique place and felt so authentically Japanese.

I wish we had been able to stay longer because it was such a beautiful house and there was so much charm and cute details.

"Not my cup of tea."

The bed linens were clean, the toilet and shower room are modern. The neighbors were lovely.

We showed up an hour early because it was raining. The owner would not bring us the key because it was raining. We stood in the rain for 45 minutes until a neighbor came and showed us that the entry way was unlocked. The only place to brush our teeth was in the small sink on the back of the toilet or in the kitchen sink. It was unhygienic. The owner has deferred a lot of required maintenance and then termed this place ‘vintage’.

YUMEJI is a well-preserved Japanese vintage house. The architecture is quaint. The street is tranquil. There are a lot of traditional Japanese houses around this area. The environment is full of a unique sense of elegant ancient simplicity. A charming place! Ken the owner of YUMEJI and the girl who is the owner of Cafe Frosch, they are very kind people. They gave us a big help for confirming a taxi when we left. Ken invited us to visit his workshop and show us some of his collection which is very attractive. Also, Ken is a good backer and makes very nice bread.

It will be more convenient if the kitchen facility could be improved.
