Real Japanese style living environment. Cultural living experience give kids surprise.

There are steep stairs. My 9 year old daughter falls from stairs at night. scared me. The toilet is downstairs and looks like outside of the room. Walking to the toilet is a little bit cold during winter. and sleeping room is located upstairs. It is not really convenient. I think it is not suitable for family with young kids.

Beautiful location, beautiful old house. Host was nice, we enjoyed our stay.

In winter, more powerful heating in bathroom would be nice.

The vintage look, nice staff

The location is awkward for public transportation. The bus stop is not far, but Kyoto public transportation does not welcome large luggage. The luggage delivery system is not very straightforward to use.

Staff is really friendly. The check in came with a brief overview of the villa's history. Thank you so much again! We will definitely return if we get the chance.

I am impressed by the history of the house and how much love and attention to detail the owner takes care of it. The house organically combines the spirit of historical antiquity and traditional culture and modern comfort in the form of a toilet, shower, washing machine and dryer.

We were greeted by a very nice young lady who gave us a tour and explained what everything was. She was very polite and helpful. The house was clean and quiet, it was the traditional feel we were looking for. It wasn’t far from bus stops and it was a simple walk to get to Kinkaku-ji.

If you are looking for something with quick access to all the major sites of the city this may not be the greatest place unless you are scheduling taxis to get there or are able to rent bikes, both were reasonably available.

The breakfast was very cute and the host was very nice!
