This was really something else. We found the place because we were looking for a stay on our way back from Tulum that wouldn’t be too far from Uxmal. Never before have I felt so at home in a place on booking. Humberto and Flor really treated us like family. Their place is beautiful and magical and the house is even more amazing than expected, the pictures don’t do it justice. It is really a self built traditional Maya house and very cozy, surrounded by nature and with lovely dogs. We wish we could’ve stayed longer. The food was delicious, they have home made organic products for sale (see the pictures for the cochinita pibil I made back home in Amsterdam using their homegrown achiote) and a lot to tell about their interesting lives and Mayan history and culture. I just want to come back! Go there if you have the chance and stay longer than us! Never before experienced such hospitality on booking!

Lovely place with lovely people. Humberto has a lovely place and we loved staying there. His English makes everything even better and easier for those of us who struggle with Spanish. Location is very convenient on the way from Merida to Bacalar (and split the long boring journey perfectly in the middle) but there isn’t a huge amount around! For a night this wasn’t an issue at all. Dinner was available and very lovely, as was breakfast (lots of it too!) Is a bit tricky to find, but you’re looking for the very big 8 on the side of the road!

Shower isn’t amazing, but for one night this isn’t the biggest issue in the world!

Nous avons tout aimé lors de notre séjour de 3 nuits La maison maya est superbe, bien décorée et confortable. L accueil du propriétaire est à la hauteur des lieux visite du jardin, explication sur les épices et les plantes medicinales Les repas sont délicieux. Coup de cœur également pour le village de tzucacab et les environs, la route des églises ainsi que le début de la route puuc

Humberto and Flor and son Humberto were wonderful hosts. We can’t thank them enough for making us feel so welcome during our three nights here. We loved staying in the traditional Mayan building which remained cool with ceiling fans despite the 35 oc heat. Comfortable bed too. There’s a fresh water pool which comes from a deep underground well - a great temperature for a cooling dip. You can also enjoy a home cooked traditional meal at reasonable cost which was delicious. We used this as the perfect place to relax and savour the nature & peace during a road trip of the Yucatán Peninsula. Lots of birdlife right on your doorstep. Muchos gracias, buena suerte, and hope to be back when we return to Mexico. Tim & Zoe x

What a special experience! From the moment we arrived we were made to feel extremely welcomed, the hut is magical, clean and is a perfect place to sit and relax after a long car journey. The apartment is very well equipped and the bed is the by far the best bed we’ve stayed in so far on our trip in Mexico. Humberto offered to show us around the property the following morning and explained many fascinating things about the plants they grow on the grounds. We had dinner and breakfast which was homemade and delicious - we’d love to stop over again!

What a great place to spend the night! Humberto and family were incredibly welcoming and hospitable. We didn't partake in the offer of dinner but they prepared an awesome breakfast for us in the morning. The location is a perfect stopover if you are traveling from the coast to Uxmal. The grounds are a working organic farm and the birds are amazing, saw/heard about 30 different species in the morning! Highly recommend this wonderful out of the way getaway!

Nous avons été accueilli avec beaucoup de gentillesse par Humberto fils et père, ainsi que Flor. Nous n’y avons passé qu’une nuit mais nous avons adoré : le tour de la propriété avec toutes les explications sur les herbes aromatiques, épices et plantes, les très bons repas préparés par Flor et la chambre qui est magnifique ! On est reparti avec un petit pincement au cœur que de n’être pas restés un peu plus longtemps. Merci beaucoup à vous !!

Rien, sauf le regret de ne pas avoir fait une nuit de plus !
