Encantadora Villa Maya tradicional en Rancho Agroecologico

We enjoyed our time in this beautiful Mayan-style house on the way to Bacalar. It was an unexpected stay, but the hosts were very helpful and received us at a late hour. The house and the surrounding territory felt very authentic, and we enjoyed a home-made breakfast and a tour around the farm in the morning. It’s totally worth a visit if you are in the area.

A beautiful and complete house including terrace where breakfast was served by the host. The was om an ecological farm with many plants, trees and a fishfarm. The host showed is everything and was very helpful.

There were 4 dogs walking around and despite they were nice and harmless, it is not our thing.

The property is beautiful. It is an eco farm. There is no air conditioning, but the house was very cool at night with screened doors and windows. We were offered a traditional Yucatan dinner which was served under the palapa and was delicious. Then we added eggs to the continental breakfast, again under the palapa and delicious. Although the property is beautiful and the accommodations are nice, what we liked most was the graciousness of the owners. What a great family. We plan to return soon for a longer stay.

There really weren’t any negatives as long as you understand it is not a luxury hotel, but an eco farm. It reminded me of an agrotourismo farm we stayed in in Italy years ago.

We loved the Villa and the place. The owner was really kind to us. Beds comfortable and the Villa was very clean and free of insects. It was really helpful to stay at this place on our way to Chetumal, from Merida. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visting Yucatan.

We were warmly greeted and looked after. We were cooked a wonderful vegetarian meal for dinner for a small additional fee, which we really appreciated. The cottage is lovely and comfortable, with a modern bathroom accompanying it. We loved listening to the birds in the morning.

The host, Humberto, was great! Super friendly and he showed us his beautiful farm and let us taste all the local fruits/plants. The accomodation was very clean, beautifully built and it was a very relaxing environment. And we loved the dogs!

The rancho was very nice, a super sweet and friendly family leaves there and take care of everything with much love. Everything is self made, the food is deliciously done by Flor. We were so we received and felt at home. The little house is nice with an amazing table outside. Staying outside requires lots of repellent though .

The property is great.

We ended up coming here last minute, as a stopover on the way from Bacalar to Merida and it turned out to be one of our most favourite days. A beautiful house in beautiful surroundings but what made it even more special was the hospitality of Umberto. He took the time to show us around his farm teaching us about the different plants and the environment and was extremely welcoming and gave us recommendations for food in the local town (which has a lovely square to walk around). Not to mention a wonderful breakfast the next day. The house itself was extremely clean and well designed with a private relaxing garden at the back with hammocks. An unforgettable experience!
