"Authentic japanse home"

10.0

Very high price quality. Authentic Japanese with comfortable beds. Amazing little garden. Very useful to have bikes and to use it for the supermarket or to go omihachiman. It is bigger than it looks in pictures. It has 4 separate rooms and a big kitchen.

We hit our heads several times badly on the doors, unusual planks and the lamps. I think it would be useful to put up warning signs or use protective layers to prevent harm.

"excellent experience"

8.0

two of us own the whole hundred years old Traditional Japanese house, is a very wonderful experience. But the inner facilities like bath room and kitchen is good enough for us. Owner also provide few bicycle for free usage. The garden view of the house was excellence! Especially the second day we stayed was a whole day rainy day......

The location really quite far from town and station, for us who did not driving. The nearest convenience store (Lawson) took us about 10 mins cycling to there. But luckily the owner provided the fetching transport during the check in and check out. The old style of lamp in the bedroom has caused us some problem to switch on and off, and after few times of trying we decided to keep it off all the time😅

"Would definitely return for a longer stay if we get the opportunity!"

10.0

The home was beautiful and comfortable. The neighbourhood was quiet and peaceful. The hosts were helpful, friendly and kind. Everything we needed was provided. We were picked up at the train station and were able to pick up supplies on the way to the home. We had a very relaxing stay even though it rained the entire time. The host took us site seeing on the way back to the station and shared knowledge about the area and history. We had a fun time!

We didn’t stay long enough!!

"Guesthouse En is the perfect place to stay for an individual or family looking to explore the area."

9.0

Guesthouse En is beautiful. It’s spacious and peaceful, with great amenities. It’s located a short bike ride to Lake Biwa, or Omihachiman in the opposite direction. They provide a couple of bikes! The staff are incredibly kind and helpful. They offered to pick me up from the station, and when I left a shirt at the property, they met me at a cafe to return it.

The accomodation is a Japanese style house located in a cute neighborhood. Super clean and well equipped. You can use bicycles for free during your stay and explore the area. The host, Hiroshi, is a true gentleman. He came to pick us up at the train station, gave us a lot of tips and was really friendly and kind to us. If you come to Biwa lake, this guesthouse is the place to be.

Guesthouse En is a beautiful rural getaway. The house was large compared with the many small hotel rooms we stayed in during our stay and it was so lovely to stay somewhere that had genuine Japanese atmosphere, but that also catered to western tourists (e.g. the bath/shower is suitable for both western and Japanese travellers). We also appreciated the little extra touches like an automatic heater in the toilet and decent coffee bags. The bikes were great to get us to and from town, and Hiroshi was also very generous to take us to and from the station for a day trip to Kyoto. Would recommend to anyone who wants to get out of town and experience Japan a little more slowly.
