The house was beautiful and comfortable. The hosts were so kind and accommodating! They made us feel at home!

Everything was perfect!

Our stay at Hotori was a perfect experience. Yuri and Mikko were extremely nice and helpful. The property is located at the center of Kyoto and is near to subway and many attractions are within walking distance. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the Japanese elements in the property like the wooden design and the little garden in the middle of the property with a tree. We’ll definitely consider coming back again in the future.

This beautiful 2-bedroom home was a true oasis for our family of four, including two teenage boys, during a stretch of extremely hot weather. After staying in compact hotel rooms, it was such a relief to have space to take off our shoes in the entry and spread out and relax. The indoor courtyard added a wonderful sense of peace and calm to the home. The washer and dryer were a huge plus—we were able to refresh our clothes for the rest of our Japan trip, which made a big difference in the summer heat. Every design detail in the house was a delight—from the paintings and sliding doors to the cabinet pulls and kitchen tile. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathroom was modern and well-stocked with amenities. We enjoyed breakfast both mornings, sampling both the American and Japanese options, and appreciated the care and quality in each meal. A special thank you to Yuri and Mikko, who made us feel so welcome. Mikko met us for check-in (even a bit early) and made everything smooth, while Yuri helped with restaurant reservations and ensured we had everything we needed. Their warm hospitality gave us the best of both worlds—the privacy and comfort of a home, with the amenities and service of an upscale hotel. Highly recommend this stay—it was one of the highlights of our trip!

The staircase to the upstairs is very steep since it is in a historical tea house. This was ok for us, but could be a problem for some people. The location is good, but a little far from subway stations.

Truly beautifully crafted home. Staff came every morning and prepared our breakfast with care like family. The zen garden in the center of the home was a place where I enjoyed my coffee every morning. It rained one day when we were there and the home was so relaxing we just enjoyed being there. The rain dripped on the leaves of the trees in the center zen garden and was like magic. When we went out for the day our host would leave us treats like fresh fruit with thoughtful hand written notes for us to find and enjoy upon our return. So thoughtful!!

Absolutely EVERYTHING. From the moment we booked, we felt heard and cared for. Yuri and her team of talented women went above and beyond to make my mother and myself feel welcome. Best place I have ever stayed!. The house is stunning, authentic, picture perfect in every way. Amazing kitchen, massive bath, luxury beauty products, chef cooked breakfast, comfy beds and lots of little areas to relax and enjoy the zen. Rebooked for January it was that good

Such a pretty house and excellent location which is very quiet yet very accessible to all the things around. I also got an unforgettable kimono onsite service which is very convenient. The host and the staff are very professional as well as heart warming :) Also we ordered breakfasts for 6 mornings... every day is very fresh and with new dishes.

Under Yuri’s team this property is managed immaculately, filled with charming details and the expected comforts of home. It delivers everything it promises. Located in a prime spot. I would easily come back. Perfect for up to 4 people sharing.
