Location, style, size!

Location in the middle of Pontocho was great, gorgeous property and well fitted out

Wonderful Location, Clean and the Tub while small really great after a day of site seeing. Lots of space and the Japanese traditional feel is fantastic.

The owners are very unresponsive even though it all worked out. I wish they would respond sooner. Days went by and also the day of check in we were still not sure how to check in. The bed is very hard (barely a mattress) however we didn’t mind and there is other bedding/futons in the closet to supplement. It can be a noisy street, just FYI but the location is worth it.

Japanese futon beds a bit hard!!

It was the perfect balance between traditional and modern for us. Because it's renovated, the home has a clean and modern feel with all the tech that we are used to. Since it's in the middle of a restaurant street there are plenty of amazing dinners to be had and it felt super special to enter this touristy street to return to our sweet temporary home.

If you are a light sleeper, you might hear some of the noise coming though the thick windows and the sun shining through the sliding doors. But that can be negated. The original futon setup was too thin for us but we were able to make a super comfortable bed with the available winter sheets.
