Upon arrival, the host quickly responded to any questions. The location was absolutely stunning set upon a hill overlooking Lake Pukaki. The home was very comfortable and the kitchen was well supplied with pots and pans, a few cooking oils and seasonings so we were able to have a wonderful home cooked meal a week into our journey through New Zealand. It was a wonderful place to stay as it was a 45 minute drive to Mt. Cook where we hiked to Lake Hooker. We were able to come back, relax and enjoy the evening. This is a perfect location for travelers to recover, hike, do laundry and have a family cooked meal. We were also impressed by the wood craftsmanship in the home.

I would retire in a heartbeat and settle down on this deck with stunning views! Absolutely loved it and we will return to NZ just to be able to stay here again!

For long stay, the cottage does miss a laundry facility and perhaps some fly screens during the summer. But tbh the views made up for it.
