Sari Village Jungle Retreat

I wanted to thank the owner, Zainol, wholeheartedly for his very warm welcome 🙏 Our days in Langkawi have been incredible, and my whole family will remember them for a very long time. The villa is perfect and very spacious; the place is idyllic and exceptionally clean, with an amazing view of the sea. Zainol knows Langkawi very well, and thanks to his recommendations, we were able to enjoy several activities and make the most of our stay. He introduced us to the local culture, shared many stories, and provided us with a delicious Malaysian breakfast along with many other services that made our stay truly special. He also organized a private one-day boat trip for us, which was excellent, with plenty of explanations and visits very beautiful beaches. Our stay was unforgettable, and we will definitely return to Sari Village if we come back to Langkawi. Thank you so much for everything!

The location was amazing, close to Pantai Cenang and beaches and really quiet with an amazing view. Zainol the host was very helpful and arranged breakfast for us on the first morning which was delicious and reasonably priced. The villa was very spacious and the bedrooms and bathrooms were large and private. There was great water pressure in the showers and good hot water. Bottled water was supplied as well as tea, coffee, sugar and some fresh fruit. Our villa was cleaned on the third day and the sheets were changed on our beds and new towels provided.

The beds , although large were really hard and uncomfortable and the pillows were also flat and uncomfortable. The kitchen tap was falling off and there was no hot water in the kitchen to wash dishes so we had to use the kettle. There are no cooking facilities in the villa other than a microwave and kettle.

We stayed for a week at sari village and we loved it. The location is perfect, in the middle of nature but also close to the restaurants etc. Mr noon is super friendly.

Nothing

The view from balcony was beautiful overlooking the sea and the islands. The host Pak Zainol was very friendly and accommodating and you know that he is truly passionate about the place. He even introduced us to Malay traditional cakes for breakfast 🤤

Toilets

1. Location - quiet and well-maintained, straight in the jungles with panoramic views of the bay. We encountered local wildlife - two types of monkeys, a toucan, and a squirrel. We were a bit concerned that there would be many mosquitoes in the jungle, but there were practically none - we didn’t even use repellents. You can go down to the sea to enjoy the views (there is no swimming beach). 2. Cottage - authentic appearance, clean and well-equipped.  The plumbing is good, the mattresses are a bit firm, but comfortable. There are air conditioners in the bedrooms and a fan on the terrace. 3. Host - very hospitable. Upon arrival, he told us about all the local fauna, took us on a mini-tour around the village on his car, and when we left, he kindly drove us to the airport since it was not possible to book a Grab at 6 a.m.

1. During our stay, the local chef was temporally away, so we had breakfast in the village. We especially liked Tonkopi restaurant with different types of local and European breakfasts. The nearest restaurant, Unkaizan, is also very good, offering authentic Japanese cuisine. 2. The downside of privacy - it's a bit hard to get to civilization and beach on foot, but taxis are very accessible here. We used Grab, and it took 5 minutes and 5 ringgit to get to the village. In principle, this is even more convenient as you can choose different places to see or to eat without being tied to the house.

Everything about Sari Village was amazing! From the location, the authentic houses, jungle, wildlife on your doorstep to the extremely hospitable local owners and their brilliant island hopping daytrip. This was a really special place for us as a family - thank you Zainol and all at Sari :)

There was nothing!

Great location, best host we've ever had. So kind, so helpful, so knowledgeable! He even took us for lunch to his private beach, what a sweetheart.

Peaceful with amazing views, perfectly situated, just a short taxi ride from the beach and restaurants but far enough away to enjoy tranquillity and nature. Zainol, the host is welcoming and so interesting. Beautiful.
