Lakefront Fantail Cottage Lake Hawea, Wanaka

Beautiful surrounds and very close to the lake. Nice quiet neighbourhood too :) the facilities were good and well equipped.

Floors were a bit creaky and bed was quite soft, just our preference though.

Top location with amazing views and close to walks,and shop. Kitchen was amazing with the mod appliances and lovely cookware - even plenty of cookbooks. Home was very warm too.

Couldn't find anything to like. The location was OK.

The actual property did not match the presentation on the web site. Some of the bedding which we had booked was un-made. There was junk everywhere in the back yard. It felt dirty and was of poor standard. We actually abandoned the accommodation, forfeiting our payment and booked alternative accommodation in Wanaka. We have asked for a partial refund and have been ignored by the host(s) who don't seem to understand the standards required to operate a facility like this.

Definitely a "one couple" accomodation. Sleep-out was part of the package but not available. Laundry from previous occupants still on washing line.

The location is good as it is close to the lake.

Dirty inside. The sheets on the queen bed were used so we stripped them off and found a replacement sheet in the wardrobe with semen stains. There were crumbs on the bench. The micowave door was filthy. The cleaner is not doing their job at this cottage.
