Location was perfect. Walking distance to township

Bed was not comfortable. The mattress was lopsided and the electric blanket cords were felt through the bedding

As Lake Tekapo is quite small everywhere is within walking distance. The accommodation was very pleasant but slightly overlooked by adjacent properties but it was quiet and private.

All good.

easy to find and a central location

We arrived to a power outage in Tekapo so the lodge had no power... this meant no cooking facilities in the lodge lights or heating. There was a gas BBQ allocated to the lodge but unfortunately there was no gas with it (nothing open in Tekapo to eat out or fill the gas...) This unfortunately meant a night with cold food obtained from the local garage (crisps)...

Super easy to check in, booked this last minute because I didn't want to stay in a hostel. All the info I needed was inside. Everything I needed for my stay. Perfect location, just a 10-minute walk into the centre. Felt nice and safe expecially being on my own. Could just park my car on the street right outside.

It was a little pricy for a last minute stay, the bathroom was pretty cold even with the heating on. TV channels were super basic, but I found this in a lot of places I've stayed.

The bed wasn't very comfortable, wrong sized duvet and very noisy sheets

The directions to find the cottage were spot on and we had no trouble getting in. The cottage met our expectations, was clean and comfy, warm and welcoming. It was just what we needed.

I would have preferred human contact in the sense that we stayed in Lake Takapo for two nights and didn't have access to any local knowledge regards what to do. Anything we intended to do had to be found on Google or using brochures. Any walks, etc, needed to be found on Google even if they were 500m away. We did the Cowan's track walk which showcased pine forests, rabbit infestation, degradation of the land and pollution. The TV was difficult to navigate. One plug needs repair. Only having two of cutlery and crockery was limiting.
