Loved the house. Huge, very clean and absolutely lively location!

Would like a proper dish cloth more than one teaowel when there was 10 people and a floor mop for floor spills

The house was lovely. We loved the big bedrooms with en-suites and the large family bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and had nice linen. It was good to have a washing machine and dryer. We liked the fact that someone came around each morning to ask if there was anything we needed.

The kitchen was very nice but definitely lacked utensils. There were no bowls, basins, tongs, placemats, peelers. I think it is designed to eat out but we wanted to self cater. We would have liked to watch live TV, the rugby and news but there was only Netflix.

Support was incredible. The previous guests had broken a fry pan and not told the owners. I called them up to ask for a new frypan, and it felt like no sooner had I got off the phone that there was a knock at the door and the owner was standing there with a new fry pan. Absolute life saver, thanks!

no view of the Lake, 2 broken chairs, not enough lounge chairs for the number of people it could accomodate, only 4 wine glasses, not very clean, no bowls for serving, no dish cloth for wiping bench, water in shower took along time to drain., expected some milk to be in the fridge,

Complaint: Accommodation rented 8 Jimmy’s Lane Tekapo Date of Stay: 20/01/2023 – 24/01/2023 4 nights Please Note: We rented 2 Jimmy’s Lane last November. We paid the SAME prices for both houses. 2 Jimmy’s Lane was why we returned, thinking we would get the same spectacular facilities, service and space. Following are the multitude of upsets we experienced at 8 Jimmy’s Lane. This is a travesty against Hospitality. For shame. Please see photographic evidence to follow. 1. We applied for an 11am check-in, and arrived late at 2.30pm AND THE FLOOR WAS STILL UNMOPPED. It remained unmopped during our entire stay. 2. We booked for 8 (eight) adults, and were furnished with 1 tea towel. 3. There was 1 towel per room for those 8 guests. We had to ask for extra the following day as it was too late that afternoon when we discovered the absence of adequate towels. 4. On arrival we find that the rubbish drawer panel is broken and leaning up on the wall by the kitchen window. 5. The washing machine leaked if we did a wash, making the laundry floor a highly dangerous place to walk. Lack of Health and Safety on those already slippery tiles is exacerbated. 6. One of the dining room chairs was completely broken, held in only by 2 screws sticking out. My elderly grandmother nearly collapsed. This would have been disastrous as she is feeble. 7. Bed Slats MISSING ON 3 BEDS. Again, my grandmother sat on the end of her bed and fell through due to no bed slats at the end of the bed. It was then discovered that were missing bed slats in 2 of the other rooms. 8. No coffee plunger or coffee maker or coffee percolater. One tiny teapot for 1. 2 Jimmy’s lane had all of the aforesaid – clean and pristine. 9. No oven or stove instructions – and this was a digital, old, useless setup that no one recognised. We ate very late on the first evening because we had to call for assistance. A grumpy employee stomped in and showed us how to work it like we were all imbeciles.

10. The stove top needs heavy pots and pans to ‘read’ in order to turn on. Every pot and pan was cheap, light rubbish. 11. We booked for 8 people – there were insufficient glasses. One lot of coffee mugs. Cheap, shallow dessert bowls and absolute minimum of everything. Unlike 2 Jimmy’s Lane. 12. NOT ONE SALAD BOWL. 13. No toilet cleaner and in one toilet – not even a brush in its holder. 2 dishwashing tablets. For 4 days. For 8 people. All very well that we could ask when housekeeping stopped by, but everyone was sleeping. Couldn’t there have been a stock? 14. Stained, old furniture. Dining chairs not only dangerous, but stained. 2 very old, tired, stained couches seating 4 people. We had booked for 8 people and there is no lounge seating for half of them? 15. My grandmother thought she would be safer on the air mattress provided in the laundry. There was a pump box – but NO pump. The following morning, my grandmother woke on the floor because the air mattress had a slow leak. 16. The shelves in the laundry are just this mess of strange objects, arbitrary manuals and folded ‘stuff’, all in the open. An absolute mess. Even the tumble drier was filled with lint. 17. The clothes rack was broken. 18. No extra toilet paper. We purchased our own in the end because the housekeeping requests got so confused. Honestly, everything should have been available in the first place. We paid the same price as 2 Jimmy’s Lane, and did not have to beg for our rationed 2 rolls a morning from housekeeping. For shame.

Easy location and nice modern interior. The tv is massive and the beds are comfortable.

The kitchen is small and under-equipped for a house with some many beds. More cooking utensils would be helpful
