Little Church Bay

We loved everything about our stay at Little Church Bay. By far the best accommodation we have ever stayed at. Amazing hosts, You can feel that the place was built with love. Admired all the recycled materials that had been used to make this place beautiful, from every little comfort to all the amazing pieces of art nothing felt like it didn't belong there. A real comforting home away from home feel. My favorite part was the outdoor stone bath, so don't forget your togs. There is something really grounding about being in that tub and listening to the sound of the waves, wind and birds. We will definitely be back.

this location is fabulous for long coastal walks & forest trails in the mountains. Scenery around New Plymouth is beautiful with lots of feature places & must sees…….not enough time with only 3 nights need longer it was so good with scenery & photography

The location was excellent. On the beach but very close to town, restaurants and key tourist sites. The hosts were extremely friendly and informative.

99% of the reviews for this accommodation are rather redundant, as they all seem to be based on just one or two (correct) impressions, namely the great location and view, and the friendliness of the owners. Only one review, with a score of 4/10, which we think is too harsh, is based on a single (but true) negative fact, namely the lack of cleanliness (review dated 15 November 2024). How did we experience this accommodation? The positives - The location, right on the Tasman Sea, is absolutely beautiful. The view is breathtaking. - The coastal walking route is right on the doorstep. - The beautiful garden and plants. - The owners are friendly and helpful people. - The peace and quiet at night. - The good shower. - The reliable Wi-Fi - The good accessibility and parking facilities

The cons The unsatisfactory cleanliness. The general cleanliness was in our opinion substandard (a few dirty glasses, a hair on the tray, floors that weren't clean enough, etc.). Also, when we arrived, all the windows were open and there were countless flies in the rooms. We didn't use the duvet because it had several yellow stains on it. We are both allergic to dust and we could clearly feel this here. - The ongoing major construction work behind and next to the accommodation. It didn't really bother us, but we were woken up at 7 a.m. on the first morning, which was a bit unpleasant. The other morning was a Saturday. The sea view is not affected in any way by the works, but it influences the feel of privacy. - There is no air conditioning. We were fortunate to have pleasant weather during our stay, but the bedroom was too warm to sleep comfortably (the fan was too noisy to use). - The bed turned out to be too small for us (it is 140 cm, so definitely not a king-size, not even a queen-size) Due to the above disadvantages, we can only give this accommodation a 7, and we would not stay here again. This place however remains with a fine potential and we wish the friendly owners the very best of good luck.

One of best holiday accommodations I have stayed in. The location was superb and the view of the Tasman sea incredible. The amenities in the cottage were excellent. Cassie gave a very warm welcome when I got there and was always helpful to any questions I had on the area. Would recommend this place to anyone
