Resolution Bay

We had a wonderful one-night stay at Resolution Bay Cabins — it truly exceeded our expectations. We stayed here on our first night walking the Queen Charlotte Track, although you can also arrive by boat via the jetty. The location is absolutely stunning, right on the waterfront of Resolution Bay. Debra was a warm and welcoming host, and the home-cooked dinner was a real highlight — roast chicken and vegetables followed by a delicious dessert of chocolate brownie with hot berry glaze and ice cream. The continental breakfast was perfect for the start of the day, and the picnic lunch was honestly the best we had on the track. We stayed in the Moa Hut at the front with beautiful bay views. I was expecting something quite basic, but it was surprisingly spacious, very comfortable, and had all the comforts of home. A truly special place with amazing views — highly recommend.

Debbie met us at the reception, she showed us to our cottage and the facilities, the cottage was well set up, clean and comfortable, we had use of the kayaks before our day of hiking, the boat shed was equipped with life jackets, could also have a swim, the water was crystal clear, Debbie made us a delicious packed lunch for our day of hiking- exceptionally good value, would definitely stay again, 10/10

This was one of the best places we have ever stayed, so comfortable and peaceful, tranquil location and amazing views. Highly recommend!

There is a shop on site where you can get hot drinks, cake, crisps, beer, wine, soft drinks, pot noodles and toiletries etc .. open 10-6 .. had a great time .. comfortable beds .. all pretty basic but we were very happy

We were extremely dismayed that there was no smoke alarm in the house. We went and asked for one but were told 'if there's no naked flame what's the problem?' We were a family of 6. Wiring was old, the fridge was gas, and there was a fire box operating. At $450 for the night we expected much better - surely it's not difficult to provide a $10 working smoke alarm. The kids were unaware and slept wrll, the adults not so well. Granted, someone followed up with us next morning and apologized, but we believe it's not unreasonable to expect a working smoke alarm in paid accommodation, and especially considering the isolation of Resolution Bay from emergency services
