Hot Water Beach Cottage

Cleanliness was poor, cook top dirty, inside drawers dirty, crumbs and dead insects under and around toaster, window sills dirty. Only one bedside lamp, no bulb in it, no occasional/coffee table, couch very grubby, covered it so that we could sit on it. Should be a heated towel rail in bathroom. Key to access barbeque in shed not in lockbox

The cottage would be best described as rustic in a great location to Hot Water Beach. Given that we attended just after this part of NZ had just experienced a Cyclone and floods , it wasn't an ideal time to explore this region. We were told all roads were open to the Coromandel Peninsula , this was not the case at all. Many roads and facilities were all closed , which was disappointing. However, in better times , this is a great location to explore this part of the coast. Plenty of parking at the cottage.

The cottage had most facilities for our stay , however is in need of some TLC / maintenance. Front step off deck was broken, many light globes needed replacing . The washing machine , while operating well leaks water all over the floor. And the lounge is stained and quite dirty when we stayed.

The best location on one of the best beaches. Could have stayed forever. The 2 local restaurants were superb as well. What a find

Would have been nice to have teabags and milk but they were never promised so not really an issue. Just tried to think of something

The location was fantastic. Exactly where we wanted to be. It was well equipped. The clematine tree was a lovely suprise.

A little dated. Step on the veranda broken it was a hazard. There was a musty smell throughout the cottage.
