I spent an enjoyable thirteen days (February) at Casa da Fonte. The host is a really friendly guy and it was very kind of him to have an assortment of fruits, cheeses, cold cuts and condiments already there when I arrived. There were also fresh bread rolls delivered each morning. I experienced two minor problems and they were quickly corrected. The kitchen is well appointed. WiFi, television all worked well. Being that it was February, I slept up in the loft; a bit warmer up there. The house has been restored and is historically, culturally accurate. This is a nice place to stay but you'll need a car because it's a bit off the beaten track. Small food markets and a wonderful pastry shop are nearby. I couldn't be more pleased with my stay.

These are not complaints, just observations: When you arrive, open all the windows and let the house air out. It's a bit musty at first. Be very careful in wet weather, not just at the house but anywhere there are stone steps and cobblestone streets.
