Banda Do Sol Self Catering Cottages

What an amazing place this is!! Heather has poured so much love into making this property feel like a home. We have been traveling for 2 months now and Banda do Sol is still our favorite place we have stayed because it felt most like a home. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is INCREDIBLY well stocked, but it’s all of the tiny thoughtful touches to putting the room together that really shine. The property is beautiful as well, and we really enjoyed the garden. The location was excellent, in a quieter area of the island (still with plenty of restaurants within a short drive if you don’t want to use the kitchen) Heather is so kind and we loved hearing about her life and love for Madeira. Thank you Heather for a wonderful stay and we hope to be back in the future!

We had a great stay here. Everything was taken care of until the last detail. Also, it is a great location for exploring the full west side of the island.

Band Do Sol is the most magical little spot! I have been to Madeira many times and have stayed all over the island and this place wins hands down as the best accommodation. It felt more like a home than a holiday let. Heather has thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. I loved the little welcome bag upon arrival and I was left bottled water, juice and milk in the fridge - which was appreciated since I had forgotten to pick up milk at the grocery store. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need - including a dishwasher. And the bed! The bed! So incredibly comfortable. I don't even sleep that well at home. It was lovely. The living room was super cosy and perfect for reading and a cup of tea at night. I am a remote worker and the internet was excellent and stable (even working on photos which requires some data). Plus the table I worked from had excellent views which helped with my motivation :-) The cottages are just a short drive from motorway and it is very easy to get to Calheta Beach, Paul do Mar, and Ponta do Sol. You can also easily drive to Rabacal - the starting point for some of Madeira's most classic levada walks. Highly recommend this place!

Heather is the best host you can ever imagine. It is not 5 star hotel - it is much more. Don't hesitate to book your stay. You will not regret :)

The location was great, quite, great sun exposure. The place was clean, comfortable and had everything one needs. The owner was super nice and helpful.

Heather was such a lovely and helpful host. The Appartement is perfectly equipped and cosy. Even a small private garden and a shared pool. The area is so calm and peaceful. Perfect. Best value for money. Go and visit the Pukiki Bar 2km away as well. Nice couple who runs the bar with incredible cocktails.

The house was absolutely beautiful and provided everything we needed for our stay. From the comfortable and cozy bedrooms to the fully equipped kitchen, we felt right at home from the moment we arrived. The decor and furnishings were stylish and modern, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Heather, our host, was friendly and helpful throughout our stay, making sure we had everything we needed and providing great recommendations. As remote workers, we were pleased to find that the internet connection was strong and reliable, allowing us to easily stay connected and productive during our stay. This was a crucial factor for us, and we were not disappointed. Overall, we had a truly unforgettable experience and we highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a comfortable and stylish home in Madeira.

We liked staying at Banda Do Sol very much. Everything was so comfortable! There were so much blooming and sweet smelling flowers everywhere in the yard. Location was very good, weather was always good. Heather, the host, is really nice and helpful!!! We stayed here for a week with my husband and 7 and 14 years daughters - they enjoyed their stay a lot. We highly recommend Banda Do Sol and we definitely will come back!!!
