O Templário Sonolento, Historic Centre Tomar

The location of this place is just in the heart of Tomar. There is a public secure car park near the place where we parked our car. We enjoyed our stay.

This was a perfect location for us (my partner has mobility issues) - right in the historical center, close to a parking garage and close to the castle and convent. The house has a lot of character and it is clear that it was renovated with a lot of love and care. The amenities were also very appreciated - the kitchen had a lot of appliances, the closet in the bedroom was full of extra blankets, there were fans and heaters as well in case the air conditioning was not enough (it was), and even earplugs as the traffic and noise from the street would be a little loud sometimes. The host was very communicative and helpful, giving us tips about things to do in Tomar and what to visit. We also loved the brochures available, which we used to plan some of our visit. My favourite things were the wooden floor and wardrobe on the first floor (just gorgeous), and the watercolours on the second floor. Also the wooden shutters on the doors and windows are lovely (and great for keeping the space cool in the summer).

Honestly, there is not much that I would want improved. Some of the installations are a bit old (especially the first floor bathroom), but they still work. We would have liked a washing machine, but we managed without one.

The apartment was recently restored and is located near the main square in Tomar. It is fully equipped, a hidden jewel just a short walk up to the 12th century Templars Castle and the 14th century Church of Christ, a UNESCO World heritage site. The bathrooms are fantastic.

The location was absolutely perfect, could easily walk to central Tomar or the castle without the need for any transport. It felt charming to come back to thanks to the modern A/C systems in the accommodation. It was also so nice to arrive to a bottle of wine!

Not much however it would have been nice if the host provided milk/orange juice!

The house is very well situated, you can walk to the castle, the convent or the historical part of the city. The house is absolutely lovely and very comfortable. Linda was extremely nice to us, and always available to help. Will surely come back very soon!

The location was excellent: parking garage was very close, perfect walking access to the Convent of Christ and grounds and the older part of town. Nice bathrooms. A very short walk to cafes and shopping. Groceries are about 5-10 minutes away (walking).

We were 4 (pretty fit) adults in our 70's and the top bedroom is very sparse and really for kids, with a slanted low ceiling in one part. The kitchen is barely functional, so just eat out a lot.

Location

I can’t recommend this place. It’s a three floor house, living room and kitchen on the ground floor, one room and bathroom on each other floor, being the second floor the attic. Only has Aircon on the ground floor, which is not of much use. Rooms were hot as ovens, impossible to sleep, even with the fans on. Sound insulation is non existent so when a nearby club was on every night until 6am with people drinking in the street and loud music it was totally impossible to sleep.
