O Templário Sonolento, Historic Centre Tomar

Tomar is a beautiful small town in the central part of Portugal. There is one of the oldest Universities of Europe. The old city is full of small narrow streets, beautiful houses, and old churches and monuments. The climate of the town is completed with the number of local traditions, restaurants with typical Portuguese food, and cafeterias. There is also an old Templars’ castle and an interesting aqueduct. O Templário Sonolento is a nice three-level house located in the old town, close to the main market. The five minutes’ walk let to reach this place from the train or bus station. From the outside the accommodation looks like a nice old-styled tenement, but inside everything is modern and functional. The house is clean and lets to rest after long walks around the town. The owner, Linda, is nice and takes care of everything necessary. There are also good connections to other parts of the town provided by local bus lines. I can honestly recommend Tomar, in general, and particularly O Templário Sonolento.

It was wonderful staying. The apartment was very beautiful and very comfortable. There was all that you need, with a lot of thoughtful little things, comfortable furniture and a variety of utensils. Very comfortable check-in and parking.

If you stay more than one day, you have to get a day ticket on the parking and not the regular parcking ticket. We didn't know that and have paid a lot. It was a little bit cold. The common space on the first floor had air conditioning and there was only one noisy heater on the third floor that had to be turned off due to the noise. There was no heater in the bedroom on the second floor. It would be better if we had two oil heaters on cold nights.

The location of the apartment was perfect, easy walking to everything - didn't need the car. The apartment is well set up with all the equipment and facilities needed for perfect stay.

Would have been good to have a washing machine - but no big deal.

Not the host's fault but there is a very noisy dog along the road who barked most of the night one night !
