Superior Rentals - Downtown Villa

We are so pleased we chose this apartment. All the reviews we had read were spot on. Miguel was a super host, keeping us updated with information near by and transport from the airport.. He responded quickly with any queries we had. We caught Aerobus getting off at No 7 La vie it was so close to the apartment. Victor met us there, and was very helpful showing us around the apartment which was excellent, with plenty of space, clean and well equipped. The bedrooms were spacious with separate shower areas. The location across from Jardim Municipal was great, with a cafe and plenty of seating areas. Sat out on the veranda across from the park, it didn’t feel like you were in a city. Easy access to shops and supermarket at La Vie shopping centre. Easy walk to Marina and sights.

The property is located centrally to Funchal, and a quick walk to all of the local attractions, bars and restaurants. We travelled on the local bus from the airport, with directions provided from the host, the property was easy to find. We were a group of 3 friends and the property had everything we needed, good air con and a kitchen equipped well enough for making breakfast and snacks. The property is clean and feels large, we enjoyed drinks on the balcony overlooking the park.

Great location - cafe across the street for breakfast. Central, close to restaurants and historic area. Miguel very helpful on what to do - wish we had more time there! Miguel very responsive as our flight plans changed - immediate responses provided.

We were so pleased we chose this accommodation! It was very spacious, the beds were super comfortable and the showers were great. The terrace overlooking the park, below an orange blossomed tree, was the stand out feature for us, where you could hear the birds singing while eating breakfast or having a pre-dinner drink. The location was also perfect with so many places nearby to eat and drink, and close to taxis and buses for going further afield.

The house is of a very good standard throughout, well located in the central area of Funchal. Close to all the bars, restaurants and the municipal park all within easy reach. Good house for a long stay too.

Memory foam mattress although very comfortable tended to be very warm. The bedrooms could do with a mirror in them and toilet roll holders in the upstairs bathrooms would be good too. Staying for a long time we would have liked an oven in the property but managed to get by with the microwave and hob that was there.

Miguel was incredible and a super host. He was super responsive and friendly. We had a little misunderstanding in the booking. He did everything possible to sort out quickly. He was very caring and attentive throughout our stay in the house. Victor was very kind and helpful too. Both made us feel comfortable and welcoming. The house was spacious and spotless clean. 2 good size bedrooms each with a modern bathroom gave us a great deal privacy and convenience. A huge terrace and the top floor balcony overlooking the leafy Jardim Municipal were a bonus to enjoy more sunshine. The kitchen was very well-equipped and clean, though it was relatively a bit small. It wasn’t really a problem as we enjoyed eating out. The location of the house was excellent. It was close to many amenities and attractions. Lots of restaurants and cafes were around. Supermarket was just a few minutes away which made the stay a lot easier. The house was a perfect place to stay for a holiday in Funchal old town.

Flat was spotlessly clean and super comfortable. The owner was very helpful. He went out of his way to make us comfortable. He was very friendly and his customer service in general was spot on.

No parking, but then parking is just difficult everywhere on the Island.
