Typical Fisherman's Cottage with amazing sea views!

The apartment unfortunately did not meet the hygiene and quality standards presented on Booking.com. Upon arrival, the property was visibly not properly cleaned. There were live and dead ants in several areas of the apartment, including inside kitchen equipment, dirty kitchen surfaces, unpleasant damp smell, and even personal items left behind by previous guests. Some blankets and furnishings were also not clean. In addition, the balcony door could not be properly secured, which created a genuine safety concern during the stay. A particularly disappointing aspect was that I had to spend part of my holiday cleaning the apartment myself in order to make it usable and comfortable enough for my stay. I reported all issues immediately after arrival and documented everything with photos and videos. The intermediary company managing communication between Booking.com and the property was polite, responsive, and genuinely tried to assist throughout the process, which I appreciated. However, despite these efforts, the overall condition of the apartment significantly affected the quality of the stay, and in my opinion the compensation offered did not fully reflect the seriousness of the issues encountered. Based on my personal experience, the actual condition of the apartment was significantly below the standard suggested by the listing and rating displayed on the platform.

The electrics kept going off and pressing the green button didn’t work so we just had to wait until it came back on which was at most 15 minutes but it was annoying sometimes.

We enjoyed the location. Super central to old part of Albufeira, fairly quiet and the kitchen was well equipped. The multi-level rooftop terrace with views over the rooftops of old town and out toward the ocean was lovely. The communication with the staff was very responsive and I really appreciated that. Bathroom was a nice size and the water pressure was great. Washing machine worked well.

This property needs work - in many different ways. First, it could definitely be cleaner. The furnishings, especially in the rooftop terrace need an update, they were very dilapidated. The cloth cushions were worn and stained, the blue plastic cushions were water logged and we could not use them during our seven day stay. The spiral staircase is loose - feels a bit dangerous to be honest. The bathroom door has expanded and wouldn't close fully - only half way. The fan above the stove did not work. There's more but I am sure you get the idea. I get that this property is not a luxury stay and I knew that going in but would expect things to be in good working order and clean. Giving a negative review of this property breaks my heart because it has so much potential.

The accommodations were unique, comfortable, and quiet, yet within walking distance to all the restaurants and shops. Loved the rooftop…it is such a nice feature. I would stay again if my travel plans included Albufeira.

The only thing travelers need to know is there is no hair dryer… as most places include them. Also no outlet in bathroom.

We were very happy with this property. Once we got used to the stairs, it is really hard to find fault with this place. The terrace is lovely, the beds comfy, the bathroom adequate, and the location was perfect!!!!
