We had nice views of mountains, i think it was quite good value for money. It had most things we needed

Lack of indoor table to eat at for a family, and toilet outside. These are only minor complaints though

Only one toilet and shower for the whole property. Would benefit from having another bathroom in one of the camp out sleep areas. Cooking facility could be better as we couldn't really cook while there ; if we stayed longer then the 2 nights it would have been more of an issue as you'd have to eat out all the time for dinners which would add up as restaurants were quite pricey in the area.

Superb location, clean and warm. Comfortable seating. Hot, powerful shower. From the living room there were lviews of the mountains and a limited view of the lake through the neighbouring houses. Good local information booklets. Loads of beds. Efficient and friendly correspondence from host.

We are a family of 2 adults and 3 kids, 18, 12, and 10 travelling for 6 weeks on both Islands. Our stay was in August with frosts overnight. We were able to use the single portable cooking element and large pan with incorporated element to make a basic meal, prep space was limited and eating was at a bar and on our knees. Sleeping for 5 needed to utilise some of the sleep out pods which were comfortable and clean with portable heaters. Our biggest difficulty was that the toilet was out of the front door, across the porch and into a separate locked washroom. This was pretty inconvenient for adults who often pop to the loo in the night and for the kids that had to cross the garden to visit. We are keen cyclists , but 3 of the 5 bikes needed servicing or replacement parts to function safely. This might seem a bit petty, but there were quite a few labels on furniture saying private property, keep out, with combination locks on. ( Maybe the host has suffered thefts or damage from guests in the past., which is really sad ) This lhwever, eaves a rather unwelcoming feeling, Maybe it would have been possible to store valuables away in one of the locked cupboards.

The 2 outside rooms had small heaters. These rooms were cold with the heaters on. If you were staying in the warmer months this wouldn’t be a problem.

Don’t have enough bed for whole family in the main house. Separate toilet bowl outside main house without heating. Only one plug-in stove for cooking. Bike very old and couldn’t pump up tyres. Washing machine no dryer and no place to hangs clothes in the house. Not responsive to request and couldn’t log in to Netflix.

There was some sort of mix-up and when we arrived the house had not been cleaned/serviced after the last guests vacated. The host remedied the situation after we contacted them
