Lameiros Cottage

La ubicación es espectacular con una bella vista y muy tranquilo! La casa es muy grande y cómoda. Tiene todos los utensilios básicos de cocina, y detergente para la lavadora. También mucho detalle al cuidado del huésped, teníamos café suficiente para toda la estancia, vino y utensilios de higiene personal de obsequio. Super recomendable!

Amazing views, quiet and calm area, we had everything we needed.

Friendly host, nice and cozy house, beautiful nature around

Beautiful location surrounded by mountains and birds. A totally relaxed, private stand alone house as described. The owner has a restaurant in the village itself. Well worth a visit and don't miss the church directly opposite in the town square. See photos. There was a relatively level local walk of around 6km return which was easily accessible from the cottage. You could easily base yourself here and explore the whole island, as the link road to Funchal is relatively flat and safe and cuts through the mountains rather than driving over them.

Due to still conditions and burning off by other residents in the valley, the air quality could be of concern for people with asthma. This would also apply for many other Madeira locations however. Rooms upstairs (bedrooms) could get hot after a warm day but once we realised that there were no insects to worry about due to the numerous birds, we just left the upstairs windows open until dusk. Don't hire a manual car in Madeira, the hilly location and roads make it challenging enough without doing hill starts.
