authentic and calm house, the place holds history, and heritage, it was a beautiful surprise, the host took good care of us and made our stay memorable.

Location, 15 min walk to beach and walkway; close to airport and the VR, not to far from Angra or natural sites in Terceira. And Armanda, the proprietor was beyond gracious: preparing homemade breads and pastries and othe delightful local traditional breakfast foods each morning. And she prepared gluten-free items so amazingly courteous. Well designed casa for two people (and with a child even). Spacious. Newly renovated. Walking area with fruit trees and herbs. Patio for outside lounging. All so nice. Armanda shared with us really important elements of her family history which is the house and land was the property of her grandparents and parents.

A minor note: due to slight Google Maps error, future guests must spell out precisely the full/entire name of the Casa as google maps will direct to a different location on that road (rua).

The property is located close to the airport wich is very comfortable. The place is very quiet and pastoral. The house is in very good condition, renovated and comfortable with everything you need for cooking, washing your clothes , great stay with great host Armanda who made our stay even more great with excelent breakfasts.

Armanda is the kindest host we ever met. She was waiting for us at the airport as you have seen usually in movies. It was heart-melting. The breakfasts were the most delicious on the Azores. Every morning we can’t wait to find out what’s a new delicacy in our basket. She made us steamed vegetables and desserts and those were the most delicious meals on the whole island. Thank you so much. Armanda you gilded our whole Azorean vacation. We couldn’t choose a better start for our 1 monthly journey. The place is genuine and modern in one and that is the best combination. You find yourself in the middle of the Azorean farmland and lifestyle but without any discomfort. The house is very clean, tastefully furnished, cozy, and well-equipped. Like at home. We always search for new places but if we back to Terceira we would stay at Armanda definitely.

The host was brilliant - she met us to hand over the keys and offered superb hospitality. She was attentive and showed us around the property and gave us her number in case there were any issues.

We had a fabulous stay at Casa do Avô. Armanda is the consummate hostess who takes care of every detail. Her breakfast was wonderful. Our family took both of her houses with eight people.

We loved everything! You do need a car or a cab to get to Praia Vitoria or Angra but the driving is easy.

Our host, Armanda, was absolutely top notch! She prepared an arrival reception and tour which was unexpected and lovely. Her home is beyond beautiful and very clean. Armanda provided a daily breakfast basket that could feed and army! Fresh fruits, breads, meats, fresh jams, cheese and pastries that were delicious. You really won't meet a better host than Armanda.

The location is beautiful but you do have to have a car or plan on use a cab to get to the city of Praia. However, that said it's an easy drive to many of the small towns and it is not terribly far to the airport.

Review Terceira The owner Amanda has given us the warmest welcome I have ever seen. Upon arrival we were offered some local delicacies on a dining table and got tips of where to go and what to see on the island. The house even has a small “museum” on the ground floor with some old agricultural and household tools etc. The house is very tidy, pleasant, recently renovated, equipped with literally anything a family on vacation might need. There is a barbecue on the terrace, beautiful dish sets, a fully equipped kitchen etc. The hosts bring a basket of fresh food for breakfast every morning, and we could pre-order what we wanted, and it was already included in the rental rate (I suggest trying the local beetroot baguettes). On the first day Amanda drove me to a grocery store nearby (we had no car) to buy some food supplies. Very considerate. The house is about 20 minutes walking from a decent beach near the port, with showers and a bar. When I forgot my washing kit in the house when leaving, the owner was so kind to send it over to me to another Azores island. We have had many pleasant moments during our stay there, there is this special happy atmosphere that we sensed constantly, so I definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone.
