Fig Garden Cottages

Fig Garden is a 5 minute walk from the local village, with numerous bars and restaurants, grocery shops etc. The nearest ATM is at the other end of the village, as is the ghost village abandoned as a result of the Greco-Turkish War (well worth a visit). The owners are great hosts with a lot of local knowledge and connections. The trees and flora provide great shade on a hot day around the lovely pool.

We stayed at Fig Garden Cottages over Easter, and we really couldn't have asked for nicer accommodation for our holiday. The indoor space was plentiful and cosily decorated, with comfy beds, aircon/heaters, and nice big towels. We even had the log burner going, which made it even cosier in the evenings. The outdoor space was even more outstanding! We were so lucky with the weather (chilly 1st and last thing still, though) ... but the garden has seating spots in all those places to catch the most of the sunshine rays, whilst also providing all the shade you may need in full sun. Vicky & Buchin are so friendly and helpful, and they're so happy to just let you be or have a chat and fill you in on all the local best bits of the area. Buchin also contacted a friend (a local bee keeper) to source some completely natural honey, which was so delicious. We also arrived to a fridge full of essentials (including drinking water and ice cubes in the freezer) and supplied pool/beach towels. These little things really do step accommodation up to the next level. Honestly, we fell in love with Fig Garden. It's rustic and natural, but with all the mod cons you really need. We already love the area but have rebooked for September to stay again at Fig Garden, and we're counting down the days. We did loseWiFi for a few full days as the village is improving their cables... this wasn't a problem for me, though, as I picked up one of the many books on offer and totally lost myself. Vicky or Buchin made sure to inform us in advance when they were themselves notified, which was also so lovely. Fig Garden is a 5 minute walk from Kayakoy, with a small butchers and bakers; a couple of grocery shops, and bars and restaurants. There are taxi buttons in the centre, and it's on the dolmus route. However, I would recommend a car for ease. Hisaronu, Fethiye, Olundeniz, and Blue Lagoons are all very local and very much worth visiting.

The bathroom floods from the shower somewhat (so be careful), a mop and bucket is provided along with some rugs, however, a floor seal line could help so much more, or even providing a floor squeegee to push the water down the drain quickly, could be a betterl substitute. More hangers in the wardrobe would be amazing ... but I'm an unpacking and hanging up kinda person 🤣

Fig Garden Cottages consists of two self contained and very private cottages together with the owners residence in a verdant garden around a lovely swimming pool. All the amenities were fine, the kitchen was adequate for self catering. The thick stone walls and dense garden foliage ensures that you feel a million miles away from anyone else. The beds were OK, there is plenty of hot water and the living area is very comfortable. The cottages are roomy and you could easily stay there for a longer holiday. We enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere of the garden and chose to spend part of every day there relaxing in the sun by the pool. The cottages are a short walk to all the places of interest in the village. Even though Kayakoy is only a small village there are endless choices of restaurants and bars if you don’t want to self cater. Our hosts were friendly and helpful and available if needed. We found Kayakoy a good base to see the surrounding area and sites.

we spent lovely week in this cozy place, I loved interior with lots of wonderful detailes, kitchen was fully equiped for cooking, we could use grill for bbq, the territory is green and lovely with lots of trees, no troubles with wifi, lots of restaurants in walking distance, 10 min drive to a local beach, nice and helpful host - perfect place for me to come back
