Shutters on Hilltop, Scarborough

We had the most amazing time at Shutters on Hilltop! The house was equipped with everything we needed and more, especially the kitchen. The lovely touches of biscuits, bread and milk to name a few were so thoughtful and a lovely touch. The location was fantastic with beautiful views and the garden area outside felt like a fairytale. Julia, our host was one of the sweetest people I have ever met and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. I would 100% recommend this place!

Sound travelled quite easily in the house and things like the showers could be heard from other rooms and from the top floors. You could also hear footsteps from the top floor when in the bedrooms.

We had challenges with the hot water however it was sorted quickly.

Ein tolles Haus mit sehr viel Platz, einem schönen Garten und einem tollen Pool. Es ist sehr ruhig und die Aussicht toll, man sieht sogar ab und zu Tiere im Nationalpark, der gegenüber liegt. Die Betten sind bequem und es ist alles da, was man braucht. Es gab auch eine Waschmaschine, was sehr praktisch war. Uns wurde sowohl ein Babybett als auch ein Hochstuhl zur Verfügung gestellt. Julia war jederzeit für uns erreichbar, wenn wir Infos brauchten oder es Probleme gab.

Der Wohnbereich liegt im oberen Teil des Hauses und die Schlafzimmer darunter. Der Dielenboden vom Wohnbereich ist furchtbar laut im Schlafbereich. Vor allem mit Kindern, die tagsüber schlafen und auch abends früher ins Bett gehen ist das etwas nervig. Egal wie leise man sich versucht zu bewegen, es klingt als würde man trampeln ;) im oberen Bereich wird es tagsüber sehr warm, wenn die Sonne scheint.

We stayed in this house as a family. Everything was just wonderful. This house has absolutely everything your heart desires (washing machine, dryer, all appliances in the kitchen, umbrellas, sunbeds, refrigerator for the beach, good binoculars for watching animals, a lot of board games and more). I would like to note the interior separately, you can see that everything is selected with soul. Everything is clean and beautiful. First impression: just “wow!”. Thank you very much to Julia for your hospitality. You are wonderful!)

I wouldn't call it a disadvantage. I lacked a shower in my soul.

The many different areas to sit and relax. The beauty of the home, with wonderful photos in the rooms. The fact that tea, coffee, and milk had been left for us. The very clear instructions about what we needed to do. Beautiful views in a relaxing setting.

Nothing that we didn't like.
