Art House

Great proximity to trails, tastefully decorated, fireplace was very comfortable, owners were responsive and helpful.

Very minimal kitchen supplies and lack of basic items like salt and pepper or oil, measuring cups, etc. Several areas could really use a deep clean (mold present in bathrooms).

Location was perfect.

The house was very nice and spacious, perfect for our family.

Overall cleanliness.

Very well located, we were able to stroll through the vineyards very nearby. Close to town, only 3 l’a or so. Cost tastefully decorated.

Just a (hopefully helpful) suggestion, because we loved the place. A few extra provisions would have been handy - milk ( even king life), cooking oil, firewood, firelighters and a lighter.

Beautifully appointed in lovely area

Our stay at the Art House was fantastic. Everything we needed was there to make our stay comfortable. The bedding was clean and comfortable and the house has a great relaxed atmosphere that made it feel like home away from home. We really enjoyed the coffee from the coffee machine (remember to bring additional coffee beans, it's worth it) and drank many cups of coffee while relaxing on the outside 'stoep'/patio with the view of the garden.We stayed at the Art House with small children. The front courtyard is safe and enclosed for them to play and the patio had enough space for our baby to walk around and explore, take note there is no railing and it is about 1m from the ground, but has nice big steps that take you down the patio to the garden courtyard. Have read reviews that say it is not a great place for small children, but I disagree, if you can keep an eye out for them while playing on the patio there's not a lot of danger. There is a water feature in the garden that attracts a baby like a magnet (babies love water....), but it's not big enough for a child to get into, so no risk other than getting wet when playing with the water. The neighborhood is very safe and quiet, no noise or traffic sounds and a great area to take a walk. It is on the outskirts of town but still close enough to get to Stellenbosch central quite quickly. Theresa was a great hostess, fulfilling all our requests and welcoming us warmly with a nice bottle of wine. Thank you so much! We will stay at Art House again.
