"A peaceful and beautifully thought-out escape in the countryside – the perfect getaway."

10.0

We really enjoyed our stay – the Airbnb was absolutely beautiful and clearly very thoughtfully designed, with every detail considered to make it a comfortable and relaxing place to stay. The surrounding countryside is lovely, with fresh air and peaceful views, yet it's conveniently located with easy drives into Bath and only about 40 minutes to Bristol. We honestly can't fault the location, and the hosts were amazing – communication was clear, friendly, and effortless. Highly recommend!

There was absolutely nothing not to like – honestly, it was a fantastic place. My partner and I will definitely be returning for our next getaway. It truly exceeded our expectations - It was clean and the shower was a treat to use - Great water pressure.

"Pleasant stay in an interesting property in a good location"

7.0

Good location for local walks and visits to nearby places, including park & ride into Bath. Very clean and everything we needed for a weeks stay. Local shop and good pub nearby.

Parking in road sometimes difficult as builders working opposite. Did not appreciate skip collection at 6.30am! Could have done with a couple of deck chairs to use when sitting out on terrace as chairs provided were not comfortable to relax in for long.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at The Hayloft. The cottage was lovely, comfortable, cosy, and well equipped in an idyllic setting not too far away from Bath city centre.

"We loved the Hayloft and Wellow and would very much like to return for another stay."

Apart from a washing machine, which we didn't need, all the facilities to store food, cook, shower, sleep, and iron clothes were available. We found the bed to be very comfortable. Our host had left some condiments, tea, coffee etc. for us, which was a nice touch. The Hayloft is quite compact, perfect for a couple, but cosy because of that. We turned the heating down on arrival because it was too warm for us so, if you feel the cold, you need not worry. The toilet and shower room floor is also heated. We have a relatively small car so were able to park off the road at the side of the Hayloft building with the double garage doors. The Hayloft is on the first floor of the building. If you have a larger car you will probably need to park on the street, which is common practice in the village. Parking is not a problem. The village of Wellow is very quiet, which suited us. There is a pub and a village store. Bath is not far by car or the park and ride service, so if you need anything you can't find in the village there would be no problem to source it. Our host had provided some Ordinance Survey maps of the area which was helpful in getting our bearings and making plans for what to see. We had hoped to arrive before dark but got delayed and we weren't certain of which building was the Hayloft or, rather we weren't sure of how to access the building we thought was the Hayloft. Our host had thought of that and had helpfully sent us a picture of the stone gate post and garden gate by WhatsApp. Once we located that we were okay. There were lights up the steps and path into the garden where the Hayloft is located.

The main thing I can think of, that would be a consideration for people with mobility problems, is that The Hayloft is not accessible at street level and you do need to be able to carry your suitcase/s up some steps and through the garden to get to the building. This was not a problem for us at all. Finally, a very minor thing, we dried our towels by hanging on the backs of the dining chairs during the day which was okay but maybe a folding rack might be better. I can appreciate storage for that might be an issue.
