3 Bedroom House, ST9, Ryde, Isle of Wight

Location very close to bars & restaurants. Lovely period property with a fabulous kitchen. Large spacious property for 6 adults.

Parking! It's on double yellows so you can't even unload, that was the only issue we had otherwise excellent.

The location was good in a resonably quiet area..

Not allowed to enter until 5pm. Finding dirty soiled babies disposable nappies in a recycle bin in a house which had supposedly just been cleaned. You cannot lock the windows as they are either non exsistent or broken and to hold them open we had to use a book or a block of wood provided....The furniture coverings were old scruffy and holes in them, outside decking & furniture dirty and the rules and regulations were rediculous. Basically we had to clean the premises of which we paid to stay in, before we left... Will provide photos .

We loved the location and nearby parking 🅿️ The house was very spacious. Everything we needed in the kitchen. Loved the Italian Restaurant Michelangelo on the waterfront and the train ride to Shanklin

Pluses: Great location just 5 mins walk from trains, buses and shops. Ideal for people without a car. Spacious Good kitchen and dining area, sitting room very comfortable. Heating and hot water work well and are easy to control (not true of all rentals). ‘Welcome’ pack is nice to find after a long journey to get there.

Minuses Biggest is the basement holiday rental flat below. Its existence is not mentioned/made clear in the property descriptions. Thankfully empty for our week, but others have not been so lucky - see other reviews for experiences of 9 and basement flat 9a St Thomas St.. Would certainly have ruined our stay if occupied. Front of property is shabby and back garden uncared for.

The key safe was in an awkward position making it difficult to see and get to at night.

Great location and accommodation

Only thing I would say is the location of the key safe. As the key can easily fall down to the basement window which is not past of the rental. Wonder if either a screen to prevent it falling or to move to the other side.

Very attractive and spacious Victorian property with 3 large bedrooms and 2 full size bathrooms so ideal for a group of adults. The kitchen is huge and well equipped with modern appliances, the kitchen opens up onto the dining room creating a really nice open, social area. The property was very clean and the linens and towels provided were very good quality.

The property is looking a bit shabby and in need of some renovation. The photos on the site are a bit misleading. Windows don't stay open, the carpet and curtains are stained and paint is peeling from the walls. The garden is very overgrown and full of weeds. It wouldn't take much to make this a 10/10 house.
