Tranquil Holiday Home

Location was good for a jaunt into York and the local village was very close by with shops, a lovely bakery and good places to eat. The host Paul was friendly and welcoming. Hot tub was lovely and the lake view was indeed beautiful.

Very cramped bedrooms that could probably have done with being 2 rather than 3. Very noisy road right next to bedroom window. At peak times it's very disruptive and bigger vehicles shake the cabin. Pigeons on the roof make a racket also. Not to mention the sound of gunshots in the morning! For the price I expected more from the facilities. No oven gloves, kitchen roll or welcome supplies like I've had at properties of this price point. The pictures and description are a quite deceptive. You aren't looking out at the lake from the cabin per se. Between you and it is the owners driveway which they will walk up and down to open the gates right outside the living room window as well as general milling around or parking right outside the window too. This means we felt self conscious like we didn't have any privacy in the living room. Also meant they could see you in the hottub too! Not the vibe you want in a holiday getaway! We chose this cabin over a holiday park for the privacy and don't feel like we got it.

Loved the location and the hot tub, the location was beautiful and very peaceful, beds were really comfy and lovely and clean, lovely hosts

The hot tub really stung our eyes and throats when we got in but it was quickly remedied by half draining so no problems after that
