Perfect location for York city. Its quiet, private and secure in a gated complex, free parking within the gated complex was a real bonus . Exceptionally clean and modern, the walled garden was a lovely suntrap.

Everything was great! The house, the facilities, the area (very quiet), proximity to the city centre and railway station, and York itself. Can't fault anything.

I genuinely don't know where to begin because everything about this stay was exceptional. Having travelled quite extensively, I can honestly say this is one of the most beautiful, well-maintained, and thoughtfully presented properties I have ever stayed in. The house felt absolutely immaculate, as though everything was brand new, and the attention to detail throughout was remarkable. John was a wonderful host from the moment we arrived. He personally welcomed us and took the time to show us around the property, explaining where everything was and how everything worked—from the kitchen equipment and appliances to the heating and household facilities. Nothing felt rushed; he was patient, kind, and genuinely eager to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The house itself was perfect. It was equipped with absolutely everything one could need for a short or extended stay, making it feel like a home rather than a rental property. The beds were incredibly comfortable—we slept wonderfully every night—and it was a pleasure to come back after a day of exploring York. The location could hardly be better. Situated right in the city centre and less than a minute from the Museum Gardens, it allowed us to enjoy all that York has to offer while still having a peaceful and welcoming place to return to. One detail that deserves special mention was the fantastic information book John had prepared. It contained everything about the house, along with a wealth of information about York, including restaurant recommendations, suggested itineraries, local tips, and even activity ideas for families with children. The amount of thought and care that went into it perfectly reflects the level of hospitality we experienced throughout our stay. Quite simply, this was one of those rare places you don't want to leave. We loved every minute of our time here and would return without hesitation. We liked all of it. The host m greeted us when we got there and answered any questioned we had. Gave us direction to the Christmas market. We were a 20 minute walk from the centre of York. Could not have picked a better place to stay.
