Audley Lodge with Hot Tub

it was comfortable and stylish. the mattresses were clean and comfortable. they had put a christmas tree up as our stay was for new year. jj’s bar on site did excellent food. i had the tandori chicken kebab and the flavours exploded in my mouth. my husband wished he’d gotten that instead of his burger tho he did enjoy his burger.

the pans weren’t up to much. frying pan was tiny considering it slept 6 and the handle was very loose. The hot tub lid was broken though on order so it collected water when it rained. the first 2 nights the hot tub was just luke warm and not hot enough to use. customer services had very poor customer service when we complained that this is why we booked it for the hot tub. accused us of keep removing the cover when this wasn’t the case. not much to do. it’s dog friendly but nearest walk is over a mile away so you need your car. no sofa bed linen even though they knew we’d be using it, we had to ask for it. a few of the kitchen cupboard doors had dropped a bit so had to be carefully closed.

Stunning location, lovely views and so peaceful, close to amenities and a wonderful little town

Location brilliant & very family oriented place to stay. We all really enjoyed it & the hot tub was a lovely added bonus!

Family friendly so spacious

l would suggest having throws/small cuddly blankets available in the lounge. Jacuzzi experience was epic but the black head rests are wearing out and that spoiled the water.No matter how much we tried to scrub all the oils on our bodies,body fat will still comeout as long as there is hot steamy water.I opted not to go into the jacuzzi on day two cos of trying save my deposit. Dishwasher manual is not available and the operation is not user friendly.I has to use Youtube. l don’t know its the drainages smelling but when one walks through the utility room there is putrid smell.

The restaurant on site was fabulous. JJs had amazing service and fantastic quality food. We’ve agreed to meet up for food here again as we live fairly local. The site itself was quite classy and the lodges were scattered around lakes with water features which we found to be very nice. It had a nice up market feel which was exactly what we were looking for. The receptionist staff were very friendly and helped us with our queries. Overall very nice and has potential to be superb if a few tweaks are made.

A member of staff was very rude to my dad in the car park and it was very unnecessary. The individual was very arrogant and made rude gestures at my dad to move his pickup car whilst he was waiting for me collecting the keys instead of just asking him politely. This was a real sickener for the stay. I think he assumed my dad being in a pick-up car was a member of staff, which still would not be an appropriate manner to communicate to someone. We didn’t come on holiday to a luxury park to be judged by staff members without reason. The lodge was advertised with a hair dryer on booking.com, but only after my mum got out the shower did we realise a one was not present. The nice lady on reception did look into it for us but she confirmed that actually this lodge does not feature a hair dryer and none were spare. I’m presuming that the inventory packs in each lodge are therefore managed by the lodge owners rather than a standard inventory organised by the park being used in every rental lodge like other parks do. Lots of debris under the sofas when we pushed them back a little to use the sofa bed. The site has no pavements for pedestrians. Cars were all exceeding the site speed limit of 5mph and it felt quite dangerous walking to the restaurant because of this so we ended up driving around the site which kind of defeated the point of booking a stay in the Yorkshire countryside. You also couldn’t walk to the beautiful lakes as no paths lead to them which was a shame as they looked stunning. The car park was very small and we struggled to park our second car (my parents travelled from their home 140 miles away from mine) and only 1 car can park outside the lodge. The lighting in the lodge was bizarre. It didn’t have any ambient lighting such as table lamps and floor lamps so we ended up having the ceiling pendants on all the time. They were very bright and had cool light bulbs so it made the lodge feel like a doctors surgery at night time.
