Villa del Commendatore Sirugo

We stayed in the 4-bedroom apartment and had a lovely family stay. The garden is spectacular with a splendid view on the hills. The pool was not yet open (we stayed mid-May). The house is by a road with some traffic, but makes it easy to reach Avola, Noto, Syracuse. The kitchen is very well-equipped. The house was spotlessly clean, and we were offered a cleaning and fresh towels in the middle of our stay. Our family much enjoyed the large space and the proximity to the small and quiet beach. The hosts were lovely and welcoming.

We would have liked the pool - although eventually the weather turned chilly. The TV was not working (which we didnt miss at all) and the house overall is a bit damp.

From the moment we arrived at this beautiful property we were gobsmacked by almost every element of it. The gardens are beautifully kept and landscaped and the house is clean, cool, spacious and full of interesting pictures, photos and artefacts. And there is a tortoise vivarium in the central lobby. We booked the 2-bed apartment which was perfect for 2x couples, and had great access to the garden where we drank and dined. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was modern and well equipped with hot water and good water pressure. The location - set-back from the main road, is 5 minutes drive to the big supermarket and the town of Avola where there are good restaurants and a small beach. You can also walk ten minutes to the small local beach which was always empty. We had stayed in 3 other properties during this trip but Villa del Commendatore Sirugo was the absolute highlight and we will be back at a later date next year when the swimming pool is open to further our exploring of the east coast of Sicily. We couldn't get the wifi to work, but we didn't want to trouble Claudia, the lovely landlady, as we really didn't need it! If you are looking to explore or just relax and soak up the sun, this is the perfect property.

Beautiful house and terrific garden, close access to small beach. Location in small village, but good accessibility being next to the road connecting to the nearby cities. So car is needed, but great to explore the surroundings. Hosts Rodolfo and Claudia were very kind! Quick to respond and helpful with everything. We loved our stay and would definitely revisit!

A pity the pool was not yet in service, but as we were early in the year this was expected and ok!

Beautiful grounds and house that celebrates the owners family. The architecture is a fabulous mix of historic country house and modern, the central atrium houses turtles. The pool and pool area is a true gift. Our flat was very spacious, comfortable and private with an enormous bathroom. Beach chairs and umbrellas were available to use on the short walk away Spiaggia. Ideal base for exploring the south east of Sicily.

The flat missed some basics, no salt pepper, vinegar and oil, napkins, shampoo, shower creme. There is an ironing board and iron in the basement but no one there to show you. While Claudia was very friendly and responsive to text messages, we missed someone taking the time to show us around when we first arrived.

Very good place. The swimming pool is very nice for having decent swimming (22 meters). The beach is 10 minutes walking from the house. Rooms are all good. Very reactive host. Many supermarkets a few minutes away as well as many nice cities, though you need a car to explore. We would certainly like to come back.

Not really suitable for proper food cooking because of food smell afterwards but there are many good restaurants around. It would be better to have all supplies at the beginning without having to ask, though they came very quickly after asking.

Marvelous villa with huge pool. Beautiful interior and decorations. Far from the road, perfect silence. A place to recommend or come back.

We loved it! The villa is huge, beautifully decorated. We really enjoyed the large swimming pool and how close the place is to the beach. Claudia was a lovely host! The place is also very private.
