Kandy Fortress

Kandy Fortress is a chance to stay somewhere away from the noise of the town. It's just a 10 minute tuk tuk drive to a beautiful and quiet location above the lake. The family were so welcoming and helpful. At the end, it was like leaving friends. Access to the town by readily available tuk tuk is easy. We couldn't recommend it highly enough.

There was nothing we didn't like about our stay.

Very clean and comfortable room and facilities. Very charming two sisters hosting the property were very hospitable and helpful. Home made Breakfast was delicious. Gentlemen who drive the Tuk tuk arranged by the host was very nice and very reasonable too. Very pleasant stay.

This is the best place we have stayed in Sri Lanka! Nestled away in the hills of Kandy, it’s such a peaceful escape from the city. For the price, the room is absolutely huge with a beautiful balcony also. The views from the property are stunning. The host was extremely friendly & welcoming, always asking us if we would like tea & bringing us snacks throughout the day. We ordered food in one night because it’s around a 30 minute walk to town. Perfect place if you want a mix between city & nature for your stay in Kandy :)

It is a bit of a steep walk up the hill to get here. But you can take a short cut or grab a tuktuk.

Very good value for money. Very large room with a separate living room.

We really enjoyed our stay: It’s quite with spacious rooms, a common kitchen area, sofas and dining table. The owner is super laidback and gave us bananas from her garden every morning. It is uphill 3km out of the city center. Perfect to chill after a busy day.

Just a suggestion: A fridge and cooking option could be added!

The only problem was the distance and the road.

I have lived here for a few months. I initially booked for a week and extended my stay. The owner is very kind, very hospitable. The location is excellent, it is very quiet. The accommodation is very spacious and clean. The owner gives breakfast and she is very gracious. You will love the peace and quiet here, it is surrounded by jungle but close to the city centre of Kandy. It is excellent value for money. The bed is extremely comfortable, there is always hot water in the bathroom. The common areas are regularly cleaned and spotless.
