Kyonoyado Gekkoan

Our stay at Gekkoan was nothing short of exceptional! Their lovely staff took such great care of us and made sure every little detail was just perfect. Breakfast and dinner were amazing and had us try authentic Japanese food of the highest quality. We've never experienced such hospitality and friendliness at any place we've stayed at, and we will remember this wonderful experience for a long, long time!

Host (Shohei) could not have been nicer. Gave us a whatsapp number for questions and also helped to book us dinner at a BBQ place. The place is lovely and spacious. Bathroom, bath and shower are great with great pressure. Little garden is lovely. Beds very comfy. Spotlessly clean. Would definitely stay again

Nothing, it was great

We loved the fact that it was a real historic Japanese Ryokan, in amazing condition, well organized, super-clean. We took the room with Western-style beds, which were super comfortable. The vegetarian Japanese traditional breakfast was incredible. The host was very attentive and wonderfully informative, polite and helpful in every respect, while remaining discreet - thank you so much, Shohei! Easily 5-star quality accommodation.

Wish we stayed longer than 2 nights!

It was absolutely incredible. Super high tech but also with exceptional traditional decorations. I wish I had stayed more than one night. The traditional bath (onsen) was great, the kitchen was great, the bathrooms were great, the beds were great.... You get the point. The hosts were incredibly kind and explained the facilities and the neighborhood really well

It is a very nice traditional acclamation in a quite area. We enjoyed the attention to detail in the place. Also the bath (fills up with the touch of the button!) and bathing amenities provided are amazing. Staff were very helpful. You could tell they love Kyoto and made us feel very welcome.

It is pricy. We had Japanese breakfast. Although you can tell that a lot of work was put into preparing food and it was very traditional dishes, we enjoyed the experience but not the taste unfortunately
