Angeliko's Vourgaris stone house

Lovely big property with good outside space downstairs. The main bedroom upstairs has doors leading to an outside area with lovely views. There is a shop close by which has a good supply of fresh fruit and vegetables. Good communication with the host who gave us directions and photos to find the property, which was fairly easy.

Lots of steps up, so travel light and be fit and able! You could get a mule if needed but we were travelling light with 8kg backpacks so we were ok! A bit of a climb after a few drinks! lol!

Loved the village location and traditional home environment. The courtyard and roof terraces are great features. A great opportunity to explore the hills and back streets of Hydra.

The self catering facilities are simple but perfectly functional.

There were some details that made a bad impression.for example the toilet seat was old and damaged as well as the bin but as soon as I asked for a replacement it was done. Also the interior decoration could be a lot better to match with the old traditional style of the building and some of the chairs are very old and need to fixed.

Really nice private house with 2 patios and many rooms.

Lovely spacious old house in a character location in Hydra - you felt like a local (rather than a tourist down on the port). Host was lovely and welcoming and guided us personally to the accommodation and gave us restaurant tips. Lots of extras in the house to make our stay easy and comfortable (condiments in the kitchen, laundry powder etc).

This house was a little bit of a walk from the port where all the shops and restaurants are. However it did feel very authentic and you weren’t far from the beach. We preferred it, however it may not suit if you want to be right in the action!

It was like a home away from home, everything we needed for a relaxing, comfortable and enjoyable stay. We loved heading out in the morning for a swim and food and then coming home to relax at the house in the afternoon before heading out again at sunset for dinner.

The house was located in a quiet area, however close to all restaurants and bars. The terrace was amazing with great view and we enjoyed breakfast in the small patio downstairs. Everything was very clean and the host was absolutely fantastic! Super helpful, always responsive and very welcoming.

The downstairs bathroom had a small shower, which was a bit uncomfortable as we are all very tall.
