"A good value and nice location, let down by some cleanliness issues"

The location is really good - the train station, discounter supermarket, a shopping street and lots of restaurants near by. The price was also very good and the house was compact but spacious. Provided all facilities that were listed. The host was very easy to communicate with.

The cleaniness of the apartment could be better - washing machine filters were moldy. As were some spots in the bathroom. Rest was okay.

"Exceptional"

Such a cute townhouse in Nijo, Kyoto! It's walking distance to Nijo Castle so that should be your first stop after checking in. The host was very friendly and understanding when we showed up early. The house was clean, smelled nice and had everything we needed. There was natural ventilation in the restroom as well. There's a little garden viewable from the living room that gives everything a very tranquil vibe.

An inconvenience would be that the bathroom and toilet are both downstairs. Might be an issue for older folks going up and down the stairs at night. We didn't mind at all, though. The beds are Japanese futons laid on the floor, just in case a normal bed is a requirement.
