FUUTEI Japanese-style lodge

Our host was flexible with check-in time. The location was very central while also feeling like a traditional neighbourhood. The washer dryer was a godsend at this stage of our trip.

The steps to the upper level are very steep so watch your step

It's a traditional place to stay, that really makes you feel like you're living in Japan for a bit.

Traditional style home. The host was incredibly kind and helpful even though we had a language barrier. Google translate worked some magic and we could not have asked for a better host or property to stay at during our time in Kyoto. We are already looking at a future trip so we can stay in this lodge again but for longer

The house is very clean! Looks exactly same like the photos. The balcony is my favorite. My little sister and I fell in love with this Japanese-style lodge immediately. It’s very cozy!!! My little sister’s dream house now is this one!

We used this place, over four nights, to explore Kyoto, but also to take stock, have a rest and do some family housekeeping (such as laundry). It was a lovely big space, was very clean, and the unit was very well located - being close to the Nijo train station, Nijo castle and some absolutely beautiful local food restaurants and markets.

There were a couple of minor inconveniences about this unit for us, including the lack of plugs (in the kitchen and the bath), and our inability (user confusion or incompetence?) to work the air conditioners. These minor problems did not affect the overall value for money represented by this place. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Good location and great value in an amazing city. This is well-located for Nijo Castle, the Imperial Palace and is close to Nijo station. The property was comfortable for five of us.
