Beautiful local house with everything you need, very helpful and responsive host. Right around the corner from beautiful temple grounds and a lovely park with shrine.

Bit far to the metro station, but food stores and restaurants close.

"Perfect authentic stay in a calm residential neighborhood!"

Einar was an amazing guest very flexible, great at communicating and we spent our best days in Kyoto when we followed his tips. The location of the house is perfect! Closed to an amazing group of gardens and temples as well as restaurants, convenience stores, a very nice park, a local sento, a well connected bus stop and a subway station a bit further (15 min).

As the house is an authentic 100 year old wooden house you get all the quirkiness that comes with it (low ceiling, tiny kitchen, steep stairs, noisy etc.). We absolutely loved It and is the charm we were looking for but be ready that it is not a modern build.

Everything. It is well maintain.

Nothing we didn’t like but just to mentions there is a temperature difference between the outside and inside of the shower room in winter so it is recommended to change clothes in the shower room 😀

We really enjoyed our stay at the Murasakino Guesthouse and my children enjoyed sitting around the table with the heated blanket after a tiring day of walking and sightseeing. The host was really accommodating with the various changes in our arrival times, and we appreciated the time that was taken to explain how things worked around the house. There was a great Accommodation Guide provided, containing maps and information of key locations nearby, which we made good use of. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and attention to details!
